If you have to do something...

Ok I need to jump back a few days... The alcohol dip. This is for your de razor... Just the blade... The straight? I'm curious. I'm sure it's better explained much earlier (probably before the date I joined this board), but I need the cliff notes. Lol.

I do it for all my DEs and SEs/injectors after a use. The entire head of the razor gets dunked for about 10 seconds, shook out, then set out to air dry in a low moisture room (ie - not the bathroom). Disassembly and cleaning (usually just a wipe with a microfiber cloth) comes with blade changes.

Open blades like my shavettes and when I used SRs get rinsed off, towel stropped (to get rid of most of the water/soap that might be left on the blade, then left out to air dry. No alcohol. Shavettes get opened up and cleaned inside (usually just a quick wipe with a microfiber cloth is enough) when I change blades.

Thanks. I started to do that when I could actually buy alcohol (a few days ago) but wasn't sure if I was going to diminish the blade life. Good to hear others do it. [emoji106]

Shave #214 (421 Open Blade Shaves) of 2020:

Gear: Feather SS folding, Feather Pro blade, RR GC .68, Astra SP blade, Paladin Harlequin Chief 26mm brush, SV 70th soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, SV 70th AS, and Guerlain Vetiver to finish!

Corona Virus Official Day 139:

Relaxing morning!

Pretty good shave this morning. Only a couple minor nicks from the Feather. Just a great, solid, classic setup and scent profile though. Love the way SV 70th AS feels on the face!

A couple must-do items on the docket today, including taking one pooch for a checkup and later this evening we have a outdoor, social-distance gathering to attend.Going to be a good day with family otherwise!

Have a great Saturday all!

Shave #215 (421 Open Blade Shaves) of 2020:

Gear: Schick L injector, Schick blade, Paladin Harlequin Chief 26mm brush, CBL Aquatic Oud soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, and ADP Intensia to finish!

Corona Virus Official Day 140:

Late wake up. Everyone seemed exhausted.

Nice shower n shave though. Grabbed the ADP today and set up the shave around it. The Schick blade in the L is brand new, felt great...worlds above the Supply garbage. Only a couple very minor nicks that sealed up almost instantly. A very smooth shave otherwise!

Service online this morning was great, accomplished by a light breakfast of scones, bacon and what I think was some kind of Piel de Sapo melon. Delicious!

Yesterday’s small gathering was great!

Chores to take care of today. Work tomorrow. This week’s weather looks to be a little cooler than last, thankfully - high 80s to mid 90s.

Have a blessed Sunday all!
