If you have to do something...

Just had to go splash some on to test. Yeah, I get a touch of the camphorousness that DRHarris has, but more powder as well. A great splash, I need to start using it more. I never knock the scent of Proraso Red, soap or splash, it's terrific in my book.

I think I need to dig out my old tube of red and give it a go, this scent is giving me some serious nostalgia.

How embarrassing is it to say I have never tried any of the Proraso line.
You're not really missing anything. They can be finicky, requiring more water than others..... but my biggest issue is the amount of cloudy film they leave on my hardware.

It’s true they can be a bit worse in the residue department, but I only get that after a handful of uses in a row.

Shave #96 (273 Open Blade Shaves) of 2019:

Gear: Supply Injector (3-dot aggressive plate), Supply blade, RR Big Bruce synth brush, Vito’s Extra Super soap, generic witch hazel, and Old Spice AS (modern) to finish!

Kids are off to school and the shave is had. Nice one today, though I must have been a bit heavy handed with the injector. There isn’t much visible irritation but I can feel it in my skin. This plate is probably good for shavers who’s growth comes in more quickly or who take days off in between shaves. I’ll be trying the mild plate tomorrow I think!

Out to date coffee with the missus in a little while.

Should be a relatively kick back day at work today.

Have a great Wednesday all!

THIS!!!! I actually like the Proraso Red cream that I have, but it definitely leaves a cloudy film behind...on everything. I also noticed that when I was using it more regularly, my sink would start to drain very slow after a few days.

Are you finding that the closeness of your shave lasts longer with the SE?

Sorry about the irritation.....................who were you while shaving today? 🤪

Lol thanks. The miracle of reapplied witch hazel has removed most of it now.

Today, I was tired Mr Mom.

It all depends on what I use for my final pass. In general, the chain of longer lasting BBS has open blades at the top (sometimes almost 24 hours of BBS in some areas), then SEs (5-12 hours of BBS in some areas), and finally DEs (4-10 hours of BBS in some areas). The trick is that a full BBS shave is much easier to achieve in my care/difficult areas with a DE, then SE, then open blade.
