If you have to do something...

I still have no idea what you do Chris...but you are always one busy man! I will raise my drink to you and hope you get some relief soon!

Glad you’re getting some help at work Chris. We just hired someone to help me out with my work load and it’s been great!

Yep, we’re going to be back to even pretty quickly. It’ll take some pressure off folks that need vacation or a day here n there.

Take an extra long swig for me!

My official job currently is being the evening lead custodian for the church we attend. I’m just in a holding pattern right now until I get my butt in gear for bigger and better. All the other stuff I make myself do is my own fault

Yeah, still no idea what that means.

Church business is so foreign to me.

Basically I’m the catchall, as I close down the campus for the night...clean up after everyone, set up the rooms for whatever is going in the next day, light maintenance, helping parishioners on campus, making things look reasonably clean (old campus), and lockin it down for the night.

Left a light on or a door unlocked, I got that. Kid missed the urinal, I got that too. Room sound system isn’t working properly, I got you, you just forgot to turn up the volume. Decided to have your 300 person wedding late on a Saturday in the main Sanctuary, I’m there too making sure folks can still have church in the morning. Stuff like that.

Campus? Oh geez. How many buildings is this church?

About 7 buildings including a banquet hall, Sanctuary, preschool, main offices, music rooms, numerous meeting/multi function rooms, a full court gym, restrooms of course, 2 kitchens, etc.

In my teenage years my family attended a very large church also. People like you Chris were very instrumental to making sure everything went smooth.

The church I attended at that time was VERY large. Preschool - 12th grade, Bible College with dorms, Main Sanctuary, Administration buildings, publishing buildings, television production building, gymnasium, youth center, and a whole lot more than I can probably remember. Campus is an accurate description as the place I attended was bigger than a lot of Universities. I don't subscribe to the beliefs of that Church any more and there was a major falling out that hurt a lot of people that turned me off to religion altogether for a while (but not spirituality).

But yeah...you guys are always busy and I am sure your campus wouldn't be able to function without you! Hoping and praying that you get to where you want to go...and soon!

Compare that to my situation, we are a rural church of 60. We have 1 staff member...me (can 1 man be called a staff?).
You need the church shoveled or a light bulb changed I'm your man. Need to be buried or married....yup still me.

Chris being a servant is the greatest honor. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the recognition Don! It can be a big role to fill sometimes, and sometimes thankless, but it does have its moments that make it worthwhile.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Betrayals of trust, friendship, and authority are very difficult and pressing situations to have to do deal with. We expect more out of ourselves and the Church especially. In the end though, the problem is still having to deal with people, people who need as much help and grace as anyone. Mind you I say this, but it’s not at all said to explain away what you went through.

Keep up the good work Chris! Small town, single building church is more our style. Limited staff, but lots of volunteers.

Thats great! My churches growing up we’re small, sub 100 members. Definitely feels more like a close community.

Shave #47 (Open Blade Shave #255) of 2019:

Gear: Feather AC SS, Feather Pro blade (16), RR Game Changer .68, Astra SP blade (16), RR Big Bruce synth, Cella soap, generic witch hazel, Osage Rub AS, and Man Dom AS to finish!

Good shave today, though markedly more cleanup was required. Still no irritation or cuts.

Lots of videos out today...it’s great!

Last shift of the week coming up, going to be a long day. I’ll be glad to have it done!

Meanwhile, the family will be off to a Chinese New Year celebration in the Bay that my side of the family holds annually. Usually s good 50+ people show up! This year, it’s at a nice restaurant. I hope I get a nice big box of leftovers!

Have a great Saturday all!

It was a pretty interesting time. I'm not a huge believer in big churches anymore...but I also understand that what I don't like might be what is needed for others. Don't worry...it was a long haul...but I found my way back...maybe not the way some would think...but I have found what I believe to be what is right for me.

Man oh man! I bet Chinese New in your neck of the woods is pretty awesome! We don't have that here and I have always wanted to see a celebration!

Awesome Don!

Its not a Chinese New Year in the traditional sense. We still do red envelopes and some traditional foods. It’s more of an excuse to get as much of that side of the family (my mom’s) together as possible.

Shave #48 (Open Blade Shave #256) of 2019:

Gear: Feather AC SS, Feather Pro blade (17), RR Game Changer .68, Astra SP blade (16), RR Big Bruce synth, CBL 50 Shades of Vetiver soap, generic witch hazel, Fine Platinum AS, and Fine Platinum EdT to finish!

Just a quick entry as we head out to services!

Shave was good! It did feel a little rough today, I don’t think it was the blades, at least I hope not. I’ll try again tomorrow.

I guess I’ve really been craving the “fresh” type soaps. I’ve been faithful to my faux 3017 so far with daily Cella use, but I was just really craving the Vetiver this morning, so the CBL 50 Shades got picked up. This scent has grown on me immensely since first use.

The family has a three day weekend, so everyone is off tomorrow. My extra day off will come later in the week (I have Mondays off anyway).

A few meetings today and a couple chores after service, then it’s chill time!

Have a blessed Sunday all!
