Help a Guy out- What scent do wish you could find in soap/cream form?

One of the funnest parts of our wonderful hobby is the ability to use soaps and/or aftershaves in a wide variety of scents. Some scents are purely a novelty while others fall into the "I could shave with this everyday" category. Since soap makers often surf the forums for ideas, maybe one of them will make your dreams come true by making a soap in the scent you have been looking for.

So, What scent(s) do you LOVE? Is it something that reminds you of your youth? Maybe a favorite cologne scent? Or is it a singular note that just does it for you?

I'll start.
I really like a good vetiver. I think Chiseled Face Groomatorium's Redneck/Gear Head is really cool and oddly craveable. I always enjoy a good gun powder scent. Not that I could shave with it everyday but I'd love to find a quality match to Hoppe's #9 (not just the sweet banana but the Kerosene too). I enjoy some of the base notes like, coumarin, linalool, tonka bean and oak moss. I don't think i like Amber much, even something that smells decent at first ends up turning my stomach.

What do I wish I could find?
A good chocolate. I've wanted to try on but they always quit making them or the reviews are terrible on scent and/or soap base. I know it's probably a very small market and not worth doing for most makers, but I've always wanted to try one.

Razorock also made a sandalwood for a while that I absolutely loved. It was the older sensitive skin version and they stopped making it. I tried to stock up but ended up only getting one of the six that were supposedly available from the last place I could find it. I still have most of it because I don't want to run out. Well that and I have many now that just perform so much better, but that particular flavor of sandalwood has been my favorite of all that I have tried.
I would really like to have that in a better base.

Right now, I’d like for a soap maker to find the right balance between something sandalwood-y, leathery, and smokey, but not campfire-y. With a pop of something bright in there, I think that would make a wonderfully irresistible man-scent.

That was oddly specific!

Lol. I guess it’s better than being vague and not getting what you wanted!

Pretty sure it’ll be the next Aventus that’s not Aventus.

Or maybe it’ll be a total flop and not the way I imagine at all! ?

So when I brought up the idea of Coconut Sandalwood, I was actually thinking of something less "beachy." But don't get me wrong, I love Mystic Water Coconut Sandalwood. But now, I would love to have something along the lines of jasmine, sandalwood, and maybe, just maybe, a hint of Bergamot or mandarin.

I just recently sent Lisa an idea for Doc Holiday goes on a tropical vacation without the coconut and she scent me literally a scent that smells fantastic. I have absolutely no idea what notes I smell but it is super duper smelling to me!!!

Thats cool.

Another scent I thought of...well it's not really original. I purchased a bath soap from an artisan probably about five years ago or so. It was Lavender Sandalwood. It was such a wonderful scent...just loved it. I am sure the soap maker either used a fragrance oil or an EO that wasn't true sandalwood...maybe Australian sandalwood or something like that. The reason I say this is because lavender is such a strong oil that it would take such a large amount of sandalwood EO for you to even notice it. Anyway...Lavender Sandalwood would be another choice of mine.

I agree with sandalwood, but you lost me at lavender. MDC fougere is about the only thing I have that has lavender in it, but there are enough other things that I can't pick it out. When it was new, it was stronger, but now that I've had it a while and it is tamed down a little I can't pick it out anymore.

But sandalwood? I don't think I've found one yet that I didn't like. Unless you count Prorasso red which I guess is supposed to be a sandalwood? It didn't smell anything like sandalwood to me though, but like a cheap mediciny cream.

I tried to think about a scent I would want, but I guess it's like eating at a restaurant with a great tasting menu. You get this little bite on a spoon that has all sort of roasted this, and foamed that and you put it in your mouth and you experience a taste you've never tasted before and it makes you shut your eyes to just concentrate on this flavor explosion in your mouth. Like SV 70th and PdP 63, it's the scents that don't smell like anything specific and you can't describe that are top of the charts when they are in your wheelhouse.

You see, I could never help design a scent or request anything. I just don't understand how scents play with each other. I look at a soap and the notes, and I'm like Yup, I like all of those.... then I dislike the scent. Or I'm iffy about some of the notes, but they play wonderfully together. I would be too afraid that I'd say, I want a soap with X, Y, and Z in it, then have something resulting that I hate.

This exactly. I'm useless in this area.
