I am definitely one. I use elite soaps only. While that may limit my choices somewhat, and I don't always try the flavor of the month, it guarantees great lather if I prepare it properly. It's all about the shaves; it's not about the stuff, for me. Enjoy your shaves!

While I don’t consider myself an expert on soap. As my collection pales in comparison to some of the other guys on here. Who’s names might start with a D.
Some of my favorite soap bases are in no particular order, are.
Tabac (first fav)
Cella block
Arianna &Evans
Barrister & Mann
Wholly Kaw Tallows
Oleo duck fat
CBL premium V&Tonsorial is very close 2nd
Scheermonnik
Recent addition Zingari Man


These all lather easily and are consistent performers for me. Slickness and post shave are my big factors.
MWF I like but can be annoying to use. Meaning more work to get right.
Others here have their favorites.
@Patelliot did you get in on the sample pass around? Over a hundred soaps in a box to try. If not look out for it the next time. Mucho good deal.

I favor CBL, Shannon's Soaps, and Lisa's Natural Herbal Creations to be at the very top. Slightly less so, but still excellent, are Arianna & Evans, and Declaration Grooming. I don't think any of these would disappoint.

Oh Dang! I forgot Sudsy Soapery Cola with rhassoule clay. If you like Coca-Cola this is the skippy of all skippy soap.

Update 18 March 2020
Black topping again today. All good on the home front. Wife and dog getting around better each day. Stocked up on food and supplies. Gonna be hunkering down except for work. Straight to and from. Washing hands frequently. No panic just being cautious.
Tonight’s shave is gonna be the Charles Coates and Sons straight, Again with my SS Cola soap. To see if I can blame the other soap I used yesterday for more than usual irritation. Super scientific but research must be done.
Also I am starting to miss my other go to soaps a bit. Don’t get me wrong love sampling new soaps. But the allure of a “sure thing” great soap is strong.

I get this entirely and all I can say is I get to a point that the samples can sit and wait while I revisit my soaps and the samples become a draw again. Use what you want when you want. No need to HAVE to go thru all the samples right away

If you like the smell but not the performance of a soap you have.
1. Bath soap?
2. Use a non-scented base soap you like. And add the scented soap that performs under your standard.

Hello Cadre.
Rest of the day went well. Blacktop went smoother this time around. Had to stop by Target for the wife to get a prescription. Things were calm. And except for TP most things were available.
My suspicion that the Strike Gold soap may be the culprit of my less than optimum shave. May have been incorrect. Round three with Strike Gold Teddy and another razor shall be in the future.

Morning Cadre.
Foggy gloomy start to the day here in Harford County Maryland. Back in my Wuhan proof capsule. Otherwise known as Big Rig #0090. 10 Tons of gear jammin, dirt hauling, snow plowing, diesel powered goodness. Get too Close and I’ll blow my air horn. Keep your distance people.
Was looking forward to watching some vids. But looks like @Dave in KY is too upset at our lack of recruiting to post one up. We’ll get there Dave. Cheer up buddy.
Maybe I’ll round up some scallops and send em your way.
Still can’t believe Tom Brady left the patriots.
I really do hope that the NFL season is spared from all the turmoil. .
Looking forward to my continuing test of the Strike Gold soap. Teddy scent this time. Going to use a razor that is confirmed sharp. And see if there is irritation.
