Fluffy's Curmudgeon Corner

Well Cadre.
Another fine day here at the county. Once again Iā€™m loaned back out to my old crew.
They forgot how awesome I am. And now they wonder how they will ever get by without me.
Mrs. Fluffy got herself back to work and found her boss coughing and snotty. She wants a hazmat suit.
My mood is upbeat. Why you ask? Cause there is a package heading to my stoop today. Filled with goodies and shiny objects.
Stay tuned for the unboxing ceremony.

Cool, so your first video will be an unboxing. Looking forward to it. šŸ‘

No venting, man. There's just a lot of assumptions out there and "alternative facts".

Well, here's my soapbox. It's super frustrating when people use "reasons" in the the form of Ben type reasons to not get the flu shot. And some of this is just extrapolating from one thing to a more wide-spread idea. For example. If our poor suffering Don did get his flu shot this year, him getting the flu doesn't mean that the flu shot didn't work. It just means that he got a strain of the flu that wasn't covered by the shot this year. Now some people, not saying our lovable Fluffy, would then say "well look, he got the shot, still got the flu so there's no reason to get the shot". This is just a head slapper. And of those people that didn't get the flu? Some of them would have gotten it without the shot. It reduces your chances of getting it or the severity of it if you do. But some folks figure if it's not 100% then why get it? Well, because 15% chance of getting the flu is way better than 60% ain't it?? Or that cold you got? Maybe that actually was a flu virus and you didn't realize it because it was much more mild because you got the shot. But they'll walk around saying "I've never gotten the flu, so I don't need the shot". And on and on and on. Or who gives a rip if you Mr 25 Year-old gets it, but you refusing the shot getting the flu and then opening the door to the bank with your virus covered hand and then spreading the flu to a 80 year-old that could wind up in the hospital does matter.

I wouldn't wander into Kyle's control room and presume I'd know how to balance the loads on the different circuits because it just seems logical to me, but there's a large population of people that think they know better than medical researchers and those that understand how the body works on a microscopic level because...reasons.

As a pharmacist, I fully agree! Very well put.

Believe it or not this lowly window cleaner was making some of the points as I read before you covered them. I'm familiar with and agree with all points. Well stated.......unless it was a copy paste. šŸ˜‰

@NurseDave
I appreciate you well thought out and thorough response to my question. I did not intend it to have anyone think that I believe it is a waste of time. To get vaccinated against the flu.
It was more of an inquiry because i am curious as to the efficacy of this years ā€œblendā€.
Meaning that had Don responded in the affirmative. And gotten vaccinated but still succumbed to the flu. I may be more careful in my dealings with people that I suspect of being carriers.
I know that no shot is 100% guaranteed.
And get it anyway. As my wife has RA and is on Humira. My concern of becoming a Petry dish is fairly large.
Since were here and your knowledge of current events is this arena is enlightened.
How well is this years shot doing NurseDave?

None if it directed to you personally. Just a trigger button for me.
