I’m the same way on my edges. I liked the lapping film to Diamond paste, hyper sharp edges. But I can’t duplicate that on stones, so I go for sharp and smooth.

Last couple of shaves.

Gearing up to try my first loaf of sourdough bread.
I’ve. Settled on a recipe/formula. Have a good starter going. Now just need two days of free time(weekend). To allow the microscopic yeast and bacteria magic to happen. There will be pictures and stories. Hopefully good tasty bread will result. Or I’ll be feeding the birds in the hood.
It’s fun learning a new discipline. This one is a old skill many have forgone. Lord knows I’m lazy. But I’ve learned how to make shaving a hobby. Why not make baking bread for my lunch sandwiches one?

I used to love when we had homemade bread! The profuse aroma of the baking that fills the house alone is worth the trouble! Though we cheated and had a bread machine 😂

Wednesday’s shave

Genco Pyramid Razor (Guanxi Edge)
Yaqui Badger Brush
Victory Flak Bait Soap
Nivea Deep AS

Good shave with the Genco. The PHIG/Guanxi hone. Is going to be a nice option to put a "forgiving" edge on my straights. For now I am done playing with it.
My side venture into the world of sourdough baking is looking pretty good. My starter is doing what it is supposed to. As in doubling in size in 4 hours. And has a nice 'tangy' smell to it. This weekend will be the first bake. I am enjoying learning a new skill. But Man-o' -Manischewitz. The amount of differing opinions and recipes floating around the internet. The how to's and videos. Too many head filling factoids. I decided to put blinders on. And pick one starting point/recipe follow it closely and get good at that. Then maybe branch out.
Do you believe there are people that spend countless amounts of time. Posting on baking forums. Making videos and writing up tip and tricks. On something as simple as mixing together flour, water and salt. And then throwing into an oven. Man get a life people.
Hope everyone's hump day went well.

And don’t even get me started at those people that take the time to glance through the posts! 😂

Thanks for asking Chris. It’s going well. My bread making journey has begun. Behold the first loaf of Fluffy Industries Artisanal Sourdough Bread. image.jpg
As of now it’s just a lump of dough. But through the magic of microbiology. The yeast and organisms from my sourdough starter. Whom I have named “Tuco” are presently working to modify the flour to ready it for the baking process. It will be going into the oven tomorrow afternoon.
Is everything getting settled in for you guys in your new place/town?

Oh we’re workin on it. Another wrench just got thrown in the routine development groove this week as the kids started back to school. It’s been busy but good. 👍

@NurseDave Ok Dave. Tuco and I will remember your “Negative Vibes”. Better hope I don’t get you in the secret Santa event for this year. My brother actually works at a coal mine in Colstrip Montana FYI.
Whaaaaa? I’m looking forward to the amazing final product. I trust you have the Fluffy Industries logo carved into the top!

Very generous grab bag of gifts from my buddy Dave.
I certainly "needed" a few more straights. As my collection is easily contained in one small area of my side of the bedroom. Cool They are all nice examples of vintage razors. And all will used with nice thoughts about how they came into my collection. The LNHC balm is very good stuff. But the neatest item is the the bread lame. A fancy device used just before putting bread into the oven. To score/cut the loaf to allow it to rise and not "tear" in a place you do not desire. It uses DE blades. So a fresh Voskhod will be loaded into it tomorrow for use on my first loaf. Mucho thoughtful item to include in with a lot of other great gifts Dave. Thank you very much buddy
