Third time was a charm for the 1996. Every once in a while the ghosts of the Shogun Masters. Like to mess with 'ol Fluffy. And send him a PITA to get honed correct blade.
Keep me humble. My routine and bench test for razors is pretty established. And usually the only time I need to go back to the hones is if one section of the blade isn't up to par.
No real solid idea why this one passed my bench test but did so poorly on the shave test Twice!. But there is no quitting or shedding brushes in my shave den. No crying either.
Just sharp razors and good smelling/working soaps and aftershaves.
Hope you all had a good Saturday.

Boker Red Injun Razor

First shave with my Boker Red Injun. It doesn't disappoint. The old Bokers have a well deserved good reputation. They are just as good as any other vintage maker. This model is a plain jane solid razor. With the added bonus of having a 110% Non PC name. Almost want to get a Washington Redskins jersey to wear when I use it.
Monday is just up the road. Put your highbeams and seatbelts on people.

Will be using this 1996 every other shave for a while. Curious to see it’s edge retention.
Good day today until I started to do my lawn mowing. The damn Cicadas are being jackwagons. Plus my trusty very old Stihl trimmer is dying on me once it gets hot. Suspecting it’s a coil issue. But could be crankcase seals. Not sure if I want to keep messing with it. It really does go against my instinct to give up on equipment.
We’ll see what happens.

The military is on the scene.

Good shave but the day sucked. The air circulation motor in my central air conditioning unit gave up the ghost. And I might not be able to get it swapped out until Friday. On a plus note one of my friends was able to loan me a window AC unit so I can continue to sleep in my bedroom. Instead of in the basement like an old hound dog on the concrete floor.
Also on the plus side. Was able to get a new motor and capacitor for 5% over cost. Through a contact. And also getting a friend to help re-engineer it to take the non-ramping motor. Cause the oem type of motor. Costs $ 1000 and this one costs $50. So yea we are gonna go that route…duh!
Hope you guys had a better Wednesday than me.

Thanks Bruce. If it was plug and play. I'd be set. Alas it's not. That's why I'm paying an HVAC guy to swap the motor. We have to add a relay and capacitor. In order for the standard motor to work. I know my limitations. He's done this before. I had the motor go up before when this system was much newer. I spent the extra for the OEM motor. This time I can't justify it.
He's coming today to fix it. So fingers crossed the window unit can be turned off tonight.
