Everyone Loves Sumo!!!

New contest will be up on Monday or Tuesday. I am NOT including Terunofuji because as far as I can tell he is not wrestling.

Also with how stacked Juryo is I'll be splitting it 50-50 so you will pick two wrestlers.

Winner of the tourney gets to give Dave a purple nurple.

Only if they have a death wish

It is confirmed, Terunofuji is not ready for the tournament and will not compete. This sets the stage for a possible new Yokozuna come May! This is assuming Takakeisho doesn’t implode under the pressure of every Japanese Sumo fan pining for a Japanese born Yokozuna. Let the excitement begin!

Well, NHK went after Leo Dickenson… he is no longer posting live videos and has to wait out his strikes for 90 days… I don’t get show NHK can copyright claim on Abema’s content??? What a joke! NHK really doesn’t want foreigners to watch sumo!

Are you sure? I see he has a new video uploaded today. But I noticed yesterday, he has gone to a paid subscription service for his youtube channel, which I didn't even know was an option.

It's really funny. I'm a bit of a Japanophile and NHK puts a lot of effort into making promotional content for Japan. For example Journeys In Japan is a fascinating view (albeit one sided) into the many regions of the nation.
They want outsiders to have a positive view of the country and culture on one hand, but then refuse to share on the other. Even though it's clear international interest in sumo is growing.
Like any sport a big part of it is watching in real time, or soon thereafter. No one watches the English NHK broadcast, because it they don't put it up for two days.
