ETHOS Grooming Essentials

Ugh....dealing with family health matters, so I keep failing to send an order email to Frank. I need to scrutinize the product offerings more. I do my own skin care regimen, so I never buy balm/aftershave, but the Pineapple EDT sounds enticing, perhaps. I DO NOT NEED MOAR SOAP WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME

You do not appear to understand how the process works. Perhaps a diagram will help. . . .

This ETHOS Pineapple Noir is my favorite soap/post shave available . The soap does not dry and is well hydrating whereas the AS/skin food is exceptionally hydrating and the EPT spay is a classy long lasting but not overbearing scent. There is no need for me to continue with the Aventus Creed which is only the cologne without the soap or skin food, and the competitors just cannot compare with the ETHOS Pineapple Noir ... as confirmed by my other half.

Thank you Frank AKA @"Dragonsbeard" and I can't wait for further expansion of this "hydrating" ETHOS line in all your upcoming scents as well as your other "likely" planned surprises.

I spent the day on my boat and decided to do a mild shave tonight. Paradigm SE, Prorasso Red Ethos First Lather and finished with Frank’s sample of Hyaluronic acid Gel and serum. The First lather turned the Prorasso into an Artisan level soap with great texture, explosive lather and slickness equal to my Panna Crema. I did a 2 pass ATG shave and the post shave samples left my wind and sun burned face feeling refreshed and well hydrated. Frank I think you have created some wonderful Post and Pre Shave products that can turn an inexpensive soap into a spa like treatment. I am really happy with the results so far.

I have been using the ETHOS soap/skin food for several weeks and recently realized an additional benefit of this already excellent shave soap which, I do not think, one may not realize. When using a soap there are several features that are important and may enable one soap to outperform another. These features are subjective as there are no readily available ways to quantity them (other than price per gram used) as there are no reported gap measures, angles or weights traditionally used in commenting on razors. Nevertheless many agree that a soap’s cushioning, slickness, ease of use, scent, skin hydration and lack of adverse skin reaction are all useful attributes to consider.

Personally I prefer smooth shaves with little to no blade feel that result in efficient 2 pass shaves. For that reason I like a solid bar over an open comb in a DE shave. Nevertheless I own several vintage (Gillette) open combs and some modern (Charcoal Goods, Fendrihan, Pearl, Timeless, Wolfman) open/dual combs. Although there are a few open combs that are smooth I don’t usually use them due to the extra blade feel – I can get a DFS/BBS result with most of my solid bars so why bother with the extra blade feel of an open comb.

Here is where ETHOS can make a difference. When I decided to use a modern dual comb razor my passes using the open comb were much smoother and comfortable than I had recalled. For me the ETHOS soap has allowed me to use a (subjectively) harsher open comb razor (vintage or modern). So even though I prefer a solid bar and find a SB shave with ETHOS to be extremely smooth, I am able to use some of (my preferred) open combs with an overall smoother experience. Perhaps this just reflects a soap’s cushioning and slickness but it has allowed this user to comfortably use an open comb, something I have never experienced with any other soap. As always YMMV but it has been an extra bonus feature using the ETHOS soaps.

Got to try the ETHOS Melange tonight what an awesome scent, I did not add any extra drops as I wanted to see what it was like. I’d give it a 4/10 which is pretty good for Citrus. Loaded in a bowl and face lathered longer than normal as I was really enjoying the scent. Performance is top notch as I have come expect with ETHOS. Great cushion, slickness and of course post shave feel. The one thing I did notice as compared to my Panna Creama and Sebum is ETHOS rinses off my gear so much easier.1F6ECAF1-E4C7-4FF1-B54F-14263E346E6A.jpeg

Not to derail this thread but did you guys see the brushes made by Neil breed brushes sold through west coast shaving? I got 2 of them and best brushes for the money.
