Down the rabbit hole

Brought the coticule edge back out to compare it to the new razor. I wanted to see if stropping on leather would change how it felt. I got my first leather strop. So now I go from newspaper to denim then finishing on leather. I am finding it better coming off leather than denim. I think the leather strop took that coticule edge up a notch but could also be a placebo 🤣 shave #38

It's been awhile since I posted, but I have successfully honed my own Geneva Cutlery and was able to do a full 3 pass shave with it. I took it up a 2k, 6k, 10k synthetic progression and ending on Rosetta novaculite. I'll be honest it wasn't a super close shave but it was DFS and comfortable and that's all that matters. I forgot to take pictures of my last 2 shaves but here's this one with @thecajunblade new scent and it's a great one. Shave #41

I honed this razor on shapton rockstars 2k, 6k, 10k then stropped it on newspaper, denim and leather. It shaved pretty good, I was surprised by how comfortable the shave was. I had to actually check and make sure it was cutting hair because it didn't feel like it. But it was indeed removing hair. I was in a hurry to get out the door so I didn't do 3 passes it finished the shave my 3one6. I took this razor to my Black shadow and I am really looking forward to see how it shaves in the morning. I have to say i am very impressed with the edge i got off the black shadow, i cant wait to see how the green shadow feels. I have one more razor waiting to be honed and i plan on doing my synthetic progression and finishing on my green shadow. Todays shave was great 3 passes and a touch up as always. Asian plum is a beautiful scent i will have to restock the soap soon, getting low. Shave #4520250306_055548.jpg

Another great shave, used the razor i finished on my Green shadow and it was wonderful. Quick shave this morning had to run my parents to the airport. Finished the shave my 3ONE6 with a kai de blade and I have to say that may be my new favorite de blade, sharper than my go to permasharps and more comfortable than feathers but just as sharp if not sharper. Soap was a sample of stirlings. Shave #4820250313_081103.jpg

I love the smell too. However, this has made me into, dare I say, a Top-Notch Connoisseur of Unscented Shaving Soaps. Not to brag or anything, but no one here can even approach my level of Expertise. 😊

My only experience with unscented soaps is Stirlings unscented with beeswax and I loved it. I use stirlings unscented post shave balm all the time and it's great as well.
