Down the rabbit hole

I know you don't have your stop situation is not quire lined out. But one thing about a coti edge, it benefits from stropping on the heavier side.
Maybe try to be a tad more torque on you preshave stopping, it will wake it up.

Rehoned my Geneva Cutlery yesterday and tried it out this morning. It was an okay shave DFS on the cheeks and neck but still struggled around the chin. I did have 2 days of growth so that could have attributed to it. My Clauss I got from the cajunblade which is honed on a coticule was there to save the day. Shave #28

Well no picture today, forgot to take the picture after my poor attempt to stop the blood bath. I pulled a @BarberDave and cut my lip on my cleanup pass and oddly enough wasn't with a straight razor but a DE. My trusty EJ 3ONE6 bit me today, must be jealous and lashed out. It was a pretty small cut but man it bled like crazy. The Straight razor portion of my shave went good no nicks or cuts, I did not try and against the grain on the chin so I used the DE and that's when I got cut, go figure switched to the DE because I felt safer and then cut myself regardless. Shave #29

Used my Geneva Cutlery i honed myself for the first pass, after being used and stropped, and stropped some more this past week the edge started feeling better, even sharper. I do think it will need to go back to the rocks soon, I can tell it's still lacking. Used the Coticule honed Clauss for the rest of the passes. I've realized I've been reaching for Arko quite a bit recently, something about the clean, soapy smell seems really nice in the mornings. Shave #30

Today's shave was quite nice i did a one pass Straight razor shave with the coticule honed razor. Did my across the grain with a DE, mostly used the straight for the practice, I'm getting really good with my first 2 passes. I used my sample of Hendrix classics year of the dragon, I love the scent but for me the slickness is lacking. Shave #3120250214_131728.jpg

One Tip, when in and around the Adams Apple take your 1st three fingers and super stretch the skin Toward your ear on each side. shave as norma and when the elasticity of the skin returns over the Adams Apple you are shaved there and good to go with no issues

Did a one pass Straight shave this morning had to rush out the door but it was a good shave. Nothing much to say about it. Finished the shave with my Edwin jagger 3one6. I have found that the Stirlings Varen pairs nicely with SV desert vetiver though. Shave #3420250219_072005.jpg

I'm posting this shave a day late but life happens. Used the cajunblade soap Oud Wild, it's became my go to soap in the mornings. The scent is mild enough that I can easily throw an aftershave on over top but strong enough to smell throughout the shave. It was a 2 pass Straight shave, i wasn't feeling the true against the grain with a straight today, my 2nd pass is more of a combo pass at this point. Since I've started straight shaving almost daily my technique and stroke direction has changed a fair bit. My left hand tends to feel more comfortable on my neck than my dominant hand, probably because my touch is softer since I'm focusing harder on it. Also tried @BarberDave tip for my adams apple it did help but my stretching needs more work. I am seeing the need for a little rag to help stretch the skin. Shave #35 20250221_061128.jpg
