Doug's Journal of Shaving Happiness v2.0

I was all set to read about your SS experience. The tension builds...

Journal Entry #124

Pre: Hot shower/splash of cool water/Shave Secret oil
Razor: RazoRock Black Hawk
Blade: Feather Pro (2)
Brush: WCS Psychedelic Synthetic
Soap/Cream: AOS Eucalyptus Cream (26)
AS 1: Thayer's Rose Witch Hazel
AS 2: Aqua Velva Sensitive 5-in-1 ASB
AS 3: Avon Blend 7
Fragrance: None

Overview
A BBS the hard way.

SOTD Pic(s)

Shave Quality
Great lather as usual from AOS today. The blade was sharp and the shave went well. However, I think I need to take a day off because I got a ton of irritation today. This is unusual for my Black Hawk. It is a fairly mild shaver. But I am solidly at BBS after two passes.

Gear
The Blend 7 is a nice, inoffensive cologne scent. It is very pleasant but nondescript.

Other Thoughts
Bleh... Mondays.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Uh oh, a needing a day off shave. I've thought about giving the Pros a shot, but I don't know how much of a closer shave I could deal with.

The Pros are usually great for me, especially in The General. I think my face is not recovered from the MMOC yet. The last couple of shaves have kept the irritation from healing completely.

Pros are all I’ve ever used, they really aren’t as bad as folks think. Now Super Pros on the other hand...I’m definitely scared to try those! Maybe when I get my DX eventually.

In something like a Mongoose or a General the Supers aren't too scary. In an SS or a DX is possibly a different story.

Supers in the Asylum RX is a nasty nasty beast. I'm too chicken to try them in the SS but now it does not have a handle since i am trying to make a new one for it.

Journal Entry #125

No shave today, just a glug of Florida Water. Hopefully my face only needs one day to recover.

Other Thoughts
I am trying to get more excercise, but that has never been a habit for me. My goal is to get out of bed earlier and use the elliptical trainer in the weight room at my townhome complex. I have been struggling to get to bed earlier (I am a night owl.) and get up early enough to make this a possibility. This morning I made it to the weight room and did 20 minutes pushing myself to go fast. I now have that exhausted after workout feeling, which is great. I really need to turn this into an every day occurrence.

Nice stuff Doug on getting into the gym. Create a habit and it is easier to do.

Workout in the evening/night?
That is a possibility that I have been considering, but that could be a larger change to my routine. I shower and shave in the mornings and wouldn't want to go to bed sweaty, so I would either end up taking two showers a day or would change to showering/shaving at night. I like starting my day with a shave. I could shower at night and shave in the morning, but I like hydrating my face in the shower so I would have to figure out a good way to hydrate my face outside of the shower that works well for me.

Going to bed earlier and getting up earlier seems like a simpler solution.

Bummer About the continuing irritation Doug! Hopefully the day off will let it calm down.
The main thing you have to do to get into an exercise routine is develop the habit of doing so, like Don said.
