For some reason I like shaving with things that have the potential to turn my face into sushi. The results are usually a very close shave, but there is often some irritation that goes with it. If I would just stay on the milder razors, I would have less irritation to deal with. Today's shave was close. Even with the lightest of touches, it was close. I am going to call it BBS. I think the irritation will subside before long. I did manage to nick myself on the upper lip, however. It isn't big, but I really did feel it. Today's shave wasn't my best one ever, but it was far from my worst.

Gear
The Barbasol may need to go into a BST listing. I really like shaving with it, but it is a potential face flayer. The blade gap is wide and the razor is heavy. With less TLC it could have been a real train wreck of a shave. However, it turned out pretty good.

Cremo Blue Cedar & Cypress is a great inexpensive fragrance. It is simple, woody, and extremely pleasant to wear.

Other Thoughts
Remember to get enough fiber in your diets, Cadre. Especially you guys out there that are doing Keto like me. Fiber is your friend.

Getting caught up Doug. I feel ya on the work at home stuff. I am really dreading it now. Work used to be something I always enjoyed and now I hate it! Like loathe it. It is now just a constant reminder that I am stuck at home. It is really starting to effect me.

I must be over-shaving because I have razor burn again today, although it is fading quickly. The shave is BBS in two passes, but maybe I need to go back to three passes with less buffing. Maybe that would get me smooth with less irritation. I think I am doing way too much blade buffing. The quest continues...

Gear
Super Speeds are very convenient to load and use, but the best angle can be a bit elusive.

Gillette Platinum == winner, am I right?

Versace Dylan Blue is a crowd pleasing, ultra synthetic fragrance. Totally modern in every way. I like it, but it lacks the beauty and wonder that is present in many of those "old school" fragrances. Compare it to something like Penhaligon's English Fern. They are vastly different.

Other Thoughts
Thursday Date Night. Happiness.

I went for three passes today and did less buffing during each pass. Still a little irritated, but much less than yesterday. I think this is solid improvement. My skin has definitely changed since starting Keto and losing a bunch of weight. I am satisfied with today's results.

Gear
The Karve DE feels good in the hand and shaves smoothly. I may have to get a few more brass plates for it, SB and OC.

Azzaro Wanted has a definite sweet and youthful feel to me. It feels like something that should be mass appealing.

Other Thoughts
Yay for Friday.

My neck needs the time off, but it really sucks not shaving. It is the best part of my morning.

Gear
Lemon, ginger, cardamom, and vetiver combine for a really refreshing and uplifting scent in my perfume for today. It is a fresh, citrus scent, so I will probably have to reapply in a couple of hours, but it is an amazingly good scent. I think this one would be a good addition to anyone's fragrance collection.

Other Thoughts
Finished season 1 of the Mandalorian. It is a decent show. Here is hoping that they can make a second season at some point.

Let's call it BBS-. There is a tiny bit of roughness still on my neck at the sides, but there is zero irritation today. Two days off really helped. Also taking fewer strokes and using a lighter touch is helping. Focusing on technique helps. Go figure, right? I am really pleased with all parts of the shave today.

Gear
The 34c is definitely a desert island razor and a definite keeper if I ever decide to go minimalist. It is one of the most comfortable shavers that I own.

The RazoRock Acqua is not long for this world. The bottom of the tub is showing through in several places, so it should just be a matter of days. After it is done I am thinking of tackling some CBL, some Grooming Department, or some A&E. I have so many options that it is hard to choose.

Other Thoughts
The work from home situation is probably going to be extended.

I am going to call it BBS today. The face is smooth and irritation free. It was a very pleasant and zen-like shave today. Just keep focusing on good technique and good shaves will eventually result. But also pay close attention to your equipment.

Gear
The milder razors are working better for me these days. I have a pile of stuff that I need to get onto the BST. Will that pile be growing soon? We'll see.

These Lord Platinum blades are so great in my Merkur 34c. They might be just as good as Gillette Platinum, or at least close in performance.

The RazoRock Acqua is getting smaller by the day. It only has a couple more shaves to go. Today a sizable chunk broke off into the lather bowl and became a fabulously thick and creamy shaving lather. I may or may not replace this scent in the future, but I will be getting more RazoRock soaps down the road.

Other Thoughts
Nothing in today's announcement from work was a shock to me. There are others that are very not happy. The return to office has been postponed until after Labor Day officially. Unofficially it is looking like March before we will be getting back with any sort of regularity. Anyone going back will have to wear a mask at all times in the building even if no one else is present. I would really like to get back to an office situation where I can interact with people face-to-face. I need non-virtual interaction. The next eight or so months are going to be long. The fact that we will be consolidating office space has some people upset due to the new location to which we will be relocating.

Shave Quality
The shave is DFS+. It was smooth and easy, but I am not quite smooth after the shave. There was also a small amount of residual irritation afterwards, which has disappeared. The lather was great as usual.

Gear
The Fatip Piccolo works great. It is a little more aggressive than my Post-War Techs and my Merkurs, so I have to be a little more careful with it. But, there were no issues with the razor today. The QBall blade, on the other hand, was a little rough. It didn't perform too badly, but it wasn't as smooth as the Lord Platinum or Gillette Platinum. In fact there are several blades that perform better for me on shave #1. I don't think that I will be using this blade often.

One more day for the RR Acqua? There is just a small crescent of soap left in the tub. I guess need to go through my stash and pick something for next...

Other Thoughts
I am tired of adulting. I want to go outside and play.

Feeling a little beat up today

SOTD Pics

Shave Quality
I am going to call it DFS. There is some irritation and I managed to give myself two small nicks on my upper lip. I need to puff out my cheeks more and try a few other things to stretch my skin a bit more. I think that will help. While I am irritated, I didn't see much redness on my neck, so that is still some improvement. Shaving, like life, is a work in progress. I need to pull out my straights again soon.

Gear
The Progress is great. But, is 3 too aggressive for my face these days? The Sputnik was a decent blade for the razor. I think I need to spend some more time with both of them. I also need to pull out my Mergress again soon.

The RR Acqua held on for one more day of shaving. There is just a small crescent of soap left and it is just enough for a shave. It wanted to jump into the lather bowl today, but there was already a chunk of soap in the bowl and I had enough for a shave. So, tomorrow I will dump the last chunk into my bowl and go. Sunday will be New Soap Day, yay!

Other Thoughts
Got a little more sleep last night and am feeling a little better. Yesterday was just a bummer of a day. There is no reason for it to have been a bummer. Nothing went wrong. It just was. Today is starting out better.

Also, I think it is time to crank up some more Queen on Spotify. Freddy's voice is so captivating. If I could have a band make the soundtrack for my life, I would get Queen to write and perform it.
