Overview
The VdH blade is actually impressive.

Shave Quality
Two really, really great BBS+ shaves with the VdH blade. No complaints at all. Everything clicked and my face feels great.

Gear
If the VdH blades weren't so expensive, I might consider using only them. They are so much better now then when I was first starting out. (My first DE shave was with a VdH blade.)

The Strike Gold is in the 'ring of death' phase of this 3017. There is a sizable doughnut hole in the bottom of the tub. However, as most 3017ers know, the doughnut hole stage can be the longest part of the 3017. I am going past 70 shaves with this one. It could possibly hit 80.

Other Thoughts
You should never hop on the scale two days in a row. But, I am a bit obsessive at this point. Monday I was at 237.5. I felt different yesterday, so I hopped on the scale again. 236.5. I need to stay off the scale for a few days, but I am so happy with these numbers. I don't think that my weight has been this low since high school. Keto + IF does work. It works slowly at times, but it does work.

Tonight I am playing L5R (cards) at my local game store. Saturday I am running D&D. At some point soon we will be recording a new episode of my podcast (The Art of Warcast). Sunday I may (if everyone shows up) be running D&D for a different group. Monday I will be running my every-other-week DCCRPG (goodman-games.com) game. My friend Lee wants me to start up a Fantasy Craft (www.crafty-games.com) RPG game. My life outside of work is more busy than my work life right now. This doesn't even cover all the yarn projects that I need to work on.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Load that brush! Load that brush! Though, I'm not sure what I'm so excited about. The end of a 3017 means the beginning of another. You would have thought I would have ordered Old Hickory by now, huh?

It's a Miracle!!!!

On the weight thing...yes Keto and IF definitely work! I play around with what I do dietary from time to time to see if something works better for me than other stuff. But in the end...I lost 70 pounds on Keto and for the most part was able to keep it off even when I went off Keto! Keto might not be the best way of eating for everyone...but for me...I never felt better!

Congrats on the weight loss!

I had never used this blade before. It worked well and gave me the results that I desire. I am still BBS six hours later. Really good stuff.

Gear
I like this blade.

I bought yarn again yesterday... I may have a problem...

I bought yarn again yesterday... I may have a problem...
Probably still much cheaper than Magic The Gathering..... And although I never had time to get into the tabletop games, I'm sure they are no less expensive over time. Only ever got to play D&D once though.

A heroin addiction is cheaper than Magic the Gathering...

Yarn can get expensive. I have some (i.e. some of the really good stuff) that were $27 per 100 grams. Most that I have weren't that expensive, however. Stuff like Mohair and Cashmere get really pricey. I haven't gotten much into those yet. Alpaca can also be expensive. Basically, anything that is natural fiber (i.e. animal hair) will cost more.

I stopped a long time ago with MTG actually. I think any of the newest I have is Exodus. I think I have one starter deck of Onslaught, but it was given to me. No Alpha or Beta though unfortunately. I started with Unlimited. Lost quite a few in a nasty divorce and sold a few before that, but I still have around 6,000 cards.

I work with a guy that has alpacas. not sure what he does with the hair when he shears them. I'll have to find out.

I was thinking more if he had someone locally that spin it for him there could possibly be some kind of hookup.

Pay no attention to the Barbasol behind the curtain...

Shave Quality
Some good shaves this weekend. The Barbasol was one of them, it just wasn't very enjoyable.

Gear

Durablades seem to be good for me.

Closing in on 70 shaves with the Strike Gold. I am actually going to be sad when this one is over, at least for a couple of seconds.

Other Thoughts
Monday... Blech. Although, it did start out good with my shave and the scale telling me 235.9. I am going to call this officially down 50 pounds from my starting weight of ~285. Keto 4 Life.

Friday will be my 42nd birthday... Holy crap.

Checked on the fiber, but no hookup unless you want to spin it yourself. At this point he hasnt even done anything with it yet, it's still sitting in bundles.
Seems he didn't think everything through before adding them to the farm and got a little overwhelmed with real life and too many alpacas.

Well you slipped that canned shave right in there. Lets go ahead and have you slowly walk that to the trash can huh?

I guess I would have to see if I can find someone to spin and dye it for me...

New Blade Day

Shave Quality
The shave was BBS in two passes, but a little on the rough side. Pre-War (triangle slot) Techs tend to be a little rougher on my face than Post-War.

Gear
The Kai blade was okay, but I have better blades.

Other Thoughts
I have been asked to run a game in a new system for a few friends. Last night we discussed what sort of setting they want to play in. Now I have to design a world. This should be fun.
