Had a really slick and easy shave today for Adjustable Friday. My Russian razor and Pakistani blade worked well together. BBS- in two passes with zero alum sting.

Gear
The vintage Rubin razor is a smooth operator. It gave me an effortless shave today.

Other Thoughts
Still not sure what I want to use for my 3017 cheat day, or when that cheat day will happen.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

MMOC madness

Shave Quality
The shaves were BBS, but I exfoliated a couple of spots on my neck. No fluid loss, just some roughed up skin. Everything is great otherwise.

Gear
The MMOC is a difficult razor to get right. Even when you think you have the angle right, it still wants to scrape and bite.

Other Thoughts
I definitely have Yarn Acquisition Disorder. The stash continues to grow. However, I now have four projects in the works. Two (a scarf and a shawl, both in wool) are over 50% done. I also have a ripple afghan in acrylic that I got a good start on this weekend, and the tote bag in 100% cotton that I started last night. The bag should work up quickly. The afghan should be a breeze to finish. Now I just need to dig into the kilogram of sock yarn that was delivered to me on Saturday. Oh, there will be socks... Lots of socks.

Remember, no yarn socks for the elderly. They are slippery and you don't want any broken hips on your hands. Unless you stick those bathtub flowers on the bottom for traction.

OC days continue

Shave Quality
The V2OC with the 7O'Clock Green has been giving me two pass BBS shaves these past two days. The shaves are really good. I hope that I will have some time this Saturday to haul out one of my straights. It has been too long since I last used one.

Gear
The V2OC is great.

The Strike Gold is still going strong. I think I am somewhere around half-way through the tub. Even though I have been using it every day, it is still very firm in the tub. This one is going to last a while.

Other Thoughts
Two nights ago I decided to pull out some of my cotton yarn to make into a project bag. When that bag is complete I am going to use it to hold my sock projects while I am working on them. Is that too meta?

Today was another milestone for me in my weight loss journey. I am still stepping on the scale too often, but I do it for days like today. 239.9. I haven't been this light probably since high school. My fingers feel thinner.

Nah, that's like building a wood tool box to keep your tools for wood projects.

Yeah, I guess it is a crafter thing to use one's craft to make new tools to use in that craft.

I am also looking forward to making some nice looking reusable grocery bags. The ones that are available for purchase at the grocery store are, more often than not, very unattractive.

Can you use some type of fiber that would be washable?

Funny, we’ve started collecting Trader Joe bags as we travel. Sometimes they are specialized for location ie. Arizona, California

We get the sturdy plastic Target bags on our store trips, with all the good intentions in the world to reuse them...but they never quite make the trip back out to the car after the unload...so we have collected about 50 under the sink...

Shave Quality
Another really great shave today. Two passes for BBS. No complaints. No surprises.

Gear
One of the interesting side effects of 3017ing a soap is that as you progress through the tub the soap starts getting softer and softer. Some of them basically turn into creams by the end. This soap is different. It is still very firm even though I have not been shy about introducing it to water. It is softer that when I started, but not by much. I think this one is may last until September.

Other Thoughts
So much yarn so little time...
