Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Well had another wonderful shave today with the Speick shave stick. Man every year in September I am reminded just how awesome shave sticks are. I'll be honest I know loading off the tub is fun but truth be told I think the Shave Stick might be the most economical, and easiest way to shave. I know I am in the minority in that thought but I stand by it.

Well the new pet in the home is the Gecko, which Connor named Climbers... boy 4 year olds sure know how to name em LOL! I have a busy week of football, A game Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and then the little league slate on Saturday. Going to be a extremely tired come Saturday when I finally sit down to watch football.

At the office over the weekend they moved my office. I no longer have the corner office. I am on the main floor, but closer to the VP, who I am doing more work for. I think the move was to ensure I can be tasked with items quicker LOL. Or maybe to cut down on my TSC consumption! FAT CHANCE!!! But hey I still have a window outlooking the golf course so it's not all bad.

Have a good day Cadre.

Sticks cost about $5.50 for 1.75oz, which works out to about $12.50 for your typical 4oz size. That's fairly economical, but not super cheap either. I would still prefer to just grate it into a puck, because I like loading off the puck so much better.

Great shave Chad! So was a pay raise and/or promotion involved with the move? Or does the VP just want to be able to keep an eye on you?

Right there with you KJ, I do the same thing!

I've come around with shave sticks, especially Mystic Water sticks.

The MW sticks are awesome! Best way to lather MW in my opinion.

Yea but as a face latherer it is nice to do it all on your face.

They re-shuffled seating across the whole building so while I would like to say I was singled out I wasn't. I manage a support department so they wanted all of support in the same area. We aren't on the phones talking to customers all the time, meaning we are quieter. So in all honestly it makes sense as to why we sit near the VP on site. I have a good working relationship with him also. So hoping being closer I can network more.

Well today I ran the number generator again and it selected the MVM soap. I have a little bit left and it still smells wonderful. I really like Walt's soap. The performance is good and provides some nice slickness. Maybe he'll be around more so I can bum some more off of him soon. I did record the shave so look for that shortly. I finished the shave with Speick and am ready for the day.

Nothing crazy to report. Connor has been starting to get night terrors, I used to get them as a kid also. They are a pain in the butt, and sadly last night at 2AM he had one. Was able to calm him down and he came into bed with us. I just feel bad for him, now the search to figure out what triggers them. For me it seemed to happen when I was overly tired. This could be the case for him also. Anyways I do have a game this afternoon. So have a good day Cadre!

Glad you still are enjoying the MVM 1.0 Chad. Off to see your video. The MVM Beta 1.2.1 has a subtlety different character than the 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 lots did. If I can get back into the lab soon, I will get some out to see what others think.

Good shave Chad! Sorry to hear about your son’s night terrors; I hope you’re right about him just being overly tired.

Hope your day is easy peazy today so you can sneak a snooze behind your work monitor! ?

Great shave, picture, and read Chad!

Praying you figure out the trigger on Connor's night terrors!

Nice shave Chad and hoping you figure the triggers out and Conner can have peace and cope with it.

Thanks Dave. We are also hopeful. I am thinking it is honestly just being overtired.

Well today was another Speick day and what a shave it was. For some reason with the boar brush I had a hard time getting the lather where I wanted it, but with a little patience it worked. But it was a tad bit airy, still slick though!

Well yesterday I had a football game after work and it was a JV game. So common practice is that the head coach of the varsity game usually sits in the press box and just watches the game, and allows his assistants to gain experience and coach the actual game. This school I was at the head coach is kind of a butthole! LOL . Anyways I have had a few run ins with him but not bad enough for him to remember me. Anyways yesterday in typical fashion he decides to be down on the field so he can help yell at the players and referees. Well during the 3rd quarter this coach is getting visibly upset because his team has received about 3 penalties in a row, false start, holding, and illegal chop block. He starts yelling, "don't worry about it guys these are most likely new officials they don't know what they are doing." Now everyone must know there is actually a referee shortage, for some reason people don't want to get yelled at weird! Anyways little does this coach now guess who is officiating his varsity game this friday??? THIS GUY!!! Anyways brand new official Chad a few years ago might have flagged this coach for his statement. Instead at the next time out this happened.

Me: Hey coach
coach: yea
Me: Sorry you got the new officials at this game
coach: you guys are learning, I just wish you would read the rule book
Me: don't worry coach, i'll read the rule book before I do your game on Friday

(This is where I walked away like a bad*** well as cool as one can look in stripes.)

After the game the white hat came over we shook hands with the coach, and mind you we all are wearing radios so I had already told the crew what was said. So while shaking hands we go:

White hat: I have 30 years experience see ya Friday.

That's some funny stuff right there. It's nice to have some satisfaction like that.

Gotta love it when you make the impertinent fools eat their words like that. I'm sure you're looking forward to seeing him again tomorrow night.
