I don't have as much as you, but I'm right there with you on feeling overwhelmed.
I'm with both of you and why I proclaimed my self imposed fast on purchases.
Nice shave Chad. I'm going to try and hold off on using my Honey and Tobacco until I get a Honey Noir Beehive Paladin to use with it......

I am with all of you guys. I have been on a spending spree this year and am getting overwhelmed. I think I might join Dave in that "S" word thing.

Alright slow down! I am not advocating a sabbatical

I am just going to become more selective and might be more harsh in my reviewing of scents etc.

Razor: Timeless .68
Blade: Parker Blade (1)
Soap/cream: Stubble Buster Moxie
Brush: Paladin Pk-47
Aftershave1: Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Stubble Buster Moxie

Well here we go, but serious question can you claim that a soap has scent if it literally just smells like soap? I mean come on! This soap has so much potential and it is so lightly scented! In fact it literally smells like NOTHING! Thankfully the performance was good and the the aftershave saved the day letting me know how great this COULD smell. A real shame honestly. I knew from reading that these soaps are lightly scented... I had no idea they would be this light. Honestly a 0/5 on the scent strength scale. There are other scent combos that interest me but I think I will pass.

The Paladin is breaking in nicely! Fantastically actually, if I could put one of these knots in my beloved Sadie brush it would be the king of my den for sure! Sadly the knot in the Sadie brush currently is a shedder, and there is no way around it. One day I am going to have to explore re-knotting it, but it means so much to me I can't risk ruining it.

Homefront:

Well nothing crazy to report. But was made aware of something really unfortunate that happened at a basketball game last week. I was not there, but it was handled so poorly it has caused 100 officials to block the high school. Here is down and dirty version. Last year at the 5A state championship game the losing coach lost his lid and started berating the officials. This coach then was coaching the state all star game, and he took it upon himself to berate these officials also, because he was retiring. Well fast forward he decided to go to social media and completely and used that as a platform to talk badly about multiple officials and mention some by name. Well the state took no action because he was "retiring" well he did not retire and first game of the year, actually pushed an official. The onsite athletic director did nothing and the coach was only suspended for one game by the league. So the referees union has banded together and over 100 officials have blocked this school. The coach was pretty mad when the only officials willing to officiate his games are brand new officials or the lowest ranked in the state. Apparently he is meeting with our union presidents later this week, and the school is taking "action" whatever that means. The month of January every official in the state of Utah will be wearing a special band on our wrist to signify unity in the officials. Because sadly this year this has not been the only incident, we have had other coaches use sexual innuendos, and sexist comments towards our female officials. We made it very clear yesterday to the head of high school athletics that if these coaches are NOT held responsible then officials will go on strike and refuse to work game statewide.

Anyways a lot of info, but high school basketball and the referees are at odds, and games are expected to be pretty tense this week. Wish me luck tonight.

Wow that's sad. Hoping all goes well for you and you can enjoy tonight. The brush and considering reknotting a shedder. Find myself in the same predicament. Spent enough on the brush to need to reknot it but love the looks and I know how important yours is to you. Wish Paladin did a reknot service.....

Have you asked? Not sure he'd want to get into that. But he might do a special request. Or he may consider it if enough people ask. Just a thought.
Figured I would check with Declaration if I want to sink that much more into it or just leave my badgers to Paladin and put a synthetic in it. If I put another badger in it I'd be into it for about the cost of 2 Paladins from the backroom.

Surprised about the weak scent on that soap, I found mine to he enough strength I can enjoy it. The performance is spot on too.

Good for your ref union sticking together. I understand how sports can be but the coaches seem to embody the worst elements of and need to be reminded they are there for the athletes not for there own gain.

Glad you guys are sticking together. I can't understand others not being totally ashamed of the way this reflects on their schools and what the students are being taught.

Snap! Somehoe I skipped your Homefront update Chad. That's crazy. Good luck this week and in the future.

The soap was unscented I swear. But the aftershave smells heavenly.

Apparently there has been more at this one particular school. The coach got ejected for behavior, and at the end of the game administration refused to open the officials locker room, and didn't have the required escort. So the officials where stuck in the hallway being berated by fans.

Man, the gall of some people! Hope things go well for you this evening.

It is pretty bad sadly. The local news is writing a story for January when we wear the bands. I will post it here.

Glad you guys are sticking together. I can't understand others not being totally ashamed of the way this reflects on their schools and what the students are being taught.

I think what made it worse is a local University who treats this high school as a junior college because of closeness they had an assistant coach join in on the berating done on social media. I'm not trying to say officials are perfect we are far from it, but without us the games don't happen. There has to be mutual respect both directions.

Thanks for reading KJ.

What a mess. Hopefully banding together will get the change you guys/gals need.

Oh it is pretty bad. What I have shared here is just the tip of the iceberg sadly. I am really hoping the State Athletics office which governs the high schools makes some necessary changes. These problems do not exist in football. Which based off of nature of the two sports you would think it would be more likely in football.

The best scene I every took in at a game was when this guy known for balling out officials was almost on the court holding his glasses out yelling "Hey Ref, do you need my glasses you #$%^&**!!!" The official turned and said "No thanks Steve I have contacts." and simply kept on officiating. Boy this guy looked like the south end of a north traveling horse. Everyone laughed and he took his seat the rest of the game. My hat is off to any official these days. I couldn't take it.

I wear contacts also. I have used that line a few times. Most coaches if you joke with them, and be polite they have no choice but to be polite back. Usually when a coach is yelling at me, I just turn and say "you know what sir, that's possible but that's not how I saw it, so sorry." They are usually baffled that I responded with kindness and go back to coaching.

Be careful out there Chad!

I helped coached he’s my step son’s little league team for a few seasons, and part of the coaching duties included umpiring games in the other age groups. We were all volunteers helping out in an instructional league, but some of these other coaches treated it like the MLB and they were getting paid millions to win.
