So if you had to rank your trash blades...obviously the Graham Field is the worst. What's next...the Assured or the Bic?
That means it's a little unfair to expect a good shave with it, if it's only meant to cut butter.Volume 58 Vincent VT300B Use 1
Well back at it today finally for a bad blade review. And the Chinese can NOT make a good blade I swear. My goodness! These are made in China on Japanese Stainless Steel for the US Hair Salon Company Sewicob Inc out of Pennsylvania. They specialize in barber products and are one of the producers behind those
Trying to thin the herd?
To me, no.
This makes sense to me tooI think if a blade is still available commercially it’s worth a review whether it’s from the big 4 or not. If it’s discontinued there’s really no point because it’s not available for everyone unless they can find it second hand. Still fun for us to watch though ???
Yes and no. As I am sure I will use them at some point and I'm sure I'll talk about it here at TSC. Just not sure if truly relevant for this series.
I'm of a similar mind to Jim regarding discontinued blades. I think if there is any kind of history of people liking the blades, or they were traditionally associated with a vintage razor (as were the aforementioned Gillette Blue Carbons that were found in the SuperSpeed cases), then they absolutely should be reviewed.
Whether they are only available at the big 4 shouldn't be a consideration. There are so many other places to purchase blades. Why limit your findings and people's access to knowledge about other blades that won't otherwise see the light of day. PLUS...if the blade (ala Sputnik) DOES get a very favorable rating, there's a better chance, through exposure, that one of the big 4 will pick them up for distribution.
All in all, I think there is a ton of value added here...not just to TSC, but to the shaving community as a whole.
