CBL Premium Shave Soap - Anouncments

I hate inefficiency. So having 5 tubs of Roasted Oatmeal Stout was kinda bugging me. So I condensed them into 2 very full tubs. Just the way I like them. I only load in the tub, not lather, so I don’t need a lot of headspace. The only problem with this, is that now I only have 2 tubs of Roasted Oatmeal Stout! Now I need more...

Yep, 4 more to make an even 4 FULL tubs. Be careful of shopping when under the influence ?

Kinda what I was thinking.....

A fresh batch of Wagyu Tallow is on its way, new batches of soap will be made very soon. Once made, the soap has to sure for awhile so the next release won't be until late October. I do have some aged base tucked away for special runs but the supply is limited. I have some new scents in the works as well as another ghost product. I'll let y'all know more about the scents soon but I won't be posting them on the website until they are closer to being ready to go. If you have any special requests or suggestions feel free to post or PM your thoughts.

In other news...
I have been hard at work developing additional retail outlets and a few wholesale opportunities. There is a local barber who is enjoying using CBL lather on his clients and may end up with product on his shelf. I have two non-profits looking to use CBL soaps as a fundraiser. There are few out of state retail outlets looking for unique product to put on their shelves. ...and word seems to be spreading to "the other" forums.

Today, I did a thing.....

And no, I didn’t buy more CBL Soap..... yet.

After using Cowgirl a couple times, the scent just isn’t for me. Too much lavender. I was consolidating some of my tubs of Dragons Blood and making some samples up, and had just a tiny bit left in my tub, but not enough for a full use. I got to thinking what might go with Dragons Blood...... Cowgirl?

Incense, Leather, & Lavender. Sounds weird, but it worked wonderfully. I like it far better than Cowgirl on its own. The lavender got subdued by the incense and is just in the background. But the leather still plays. I dig it!

Very interesting. I wonder if Dragons Blood and leather (no lavender) would be as interesting. I have several new scents in the works, not a dragons blood/leather but I think they will be well received. A couple are inspired by requests made by TSC members, so I suspect they will be popular.

As an aside. I see Rudolph has matched us up. If you have special requests please feel free to PM me, we can explore your requests and see what can be done.

UPCOMMING SCENTS

I just wanted to give a heads up of some scents that will be coming up. I’m still refining a few ideas I think will be AWESOME, I’m excited about these projects but can’t say with certainty they will happen as planned.

Triple Stout Pumpkin Oud- a Guinness extra stout base with a pumpkin oud/oud wood scent. This one is made using only Guinness extra stout beer as the liquid. The resulting scent is a little dark and earthy with notes of cocoa and spice. It isn’t as sweet as the roasted oatmeal stout but does have a molasses and caramel like note. I also get a nutty buttery like note. If you have ever made brown butter you would know the nutty buttery note I speak of. It is a really nice fall scent that smells pretty strong from the tub but is a little weaker as a lather. Like my other beer base it is a softer soap/cream that will hold shape but i may want to call this one a cream. It lathers great, with a nice wide water band. This is a very small batch that will likely be packaged as a 3+ ounce rather than a 4+ ounce like my other soaps.

iced pineapple- this one will most likely be a ghost scent. Our pal KJ nudged me in a new direction in regards to the ghost effect, if our testing goes as planned the new ghost will be a bit stronger and way longer lasting. I’m going to say this one is a straight up pineapple scent but not a sweet scent.

Pineapple cilantro- a request from Chad sent me on a journey to find various pineapple and cilantro frags then to combine them for a unique, more mature, pineapple scent. He was right, this one is pretty great. I don’t plan to make his one a ghost scent at this time.

Tobaco leaf/flower & leather- an incredibly intoxicating and complex scent that is NOT leather forward. I really like this combo BUT in order to get it to smell best the strength of scent (to my nose) is on the light side. I want this one to happen soon but unless I can get it strong enough it will remain a special order request.

Aquatic Oud- a really cool aquatic type scent with oud-like woody richness. Yeah buddy.

Green Irish Tweed type scent. I really don’t want to do ANOTHER GIT but if it is in demand and I can do it well I will. If not a full production scent it will be a special request.

Irisch moos ...this is a concept at the moment, if I can duplicate the scent I will run with it. There’s one catch, I don’t know what it actually smells like. I have an ALPA aftershave that people say smells like the Moos, i’ll Start there.

Irish Fern- this one is fun. Another inspiration from Chad...tomato leaf! Like other fougere scent this one will have a fern/lavender/mint like scent with added depth courtesy of oak moss and Tonka bean. Still in the works but a very real possibility.

lily & lilac- a springtime scent for sure.

Lavender- this one is in development, not a simple lavender. A large portion of the sales price of this one will go to Academy for Grassroots Organizations (possible name Grassroots Lavender)

Sweet coconut- our pal Monkey expressed a desire for such a scent. I found a couple of coconut scents that might work. This will definitely be a small run.

Campfire/marshmallow/pine/fir- I am working on a couple different scents using these frags. A certain nurse suggested a resinous pine type scent and my barber client wants something similar. I love the idea of a scent reminiscent of a winter camping trip in the mountains...so I will work on that.

these are what’s cooking now. The stout pumpkin oud is nearly
ready to go but the others need to age more, meaning they are a late October early November release. I’ll also be restocking Rosa Bourbonia (6-10 tubs) and revamping the ghost lime. Dragons blood and roasted oatmeal stout frags have been secured, they may make a comeback someday.

Edit: I also plan to make a batch of CLUBMAN soap too.

I have a bunch of other possible production scent that I might want to test out first. To do this I am considering doing something creative. A soap(s) of the month is a possible way to do this. I’m thinking 2 ounce portions in a full size tub sold in 3 packs for a fixed price...my wife says I should let you pick which 3 which means I have to make a bunch.

if you have suggested or requested a scent I very likely have researched your suggestion/request. Your input may be one of the testers.

Pretty exciting stuff. Chad, I used the Ghost Dragon blood again today and I am so impressed by the strength of the scents you provide. I think this really sets you apart.
Keep up the great work!
