Cast Iron

Got this today. All it cost me was taking it out out my car.
No clue as to the maker. Only thing I can figure out is that it is pre-1950 because of the heat ring style, and that it is a "chicken fryer" with a "self basting" lid.

Thin walled and smooth, so definitely vintage. In good shape too.

This is the "self basting" feature. Steam is supposed to collect and condensate on the lid and drip from these rings.

No makers mark. This style of heat ring is supposed to put it pre-1950. I don't recognize, nor have I been able to find a similar font used to help identify the maker.

Nice, we've got a fancy French enamel coated version of that type of pan, the self basting feature really does work! We make chicken in it every Sunday.
