Bourbon Country Shave Journal - Dave in KY

So scent notes of Coffee Chocolate and Pumpkin ? They are Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins..........I'd buy it. We should call it Mrs. Potts or Pammies Muffins :ROFLMAO:
No chocolate. Every time they try to do something with a chocolate note it gets all weird. We need a three-pack limited edition that changes with the seasons. Oh man, use the oatmeal scent as the muffin base, add in a nice sharp coffee note and then the type of muffin. Summer pack could be: Coffee/Lemon muffin, Coffee/Blueberry muffin, Coffee/Raspberry muffin.

Sounds cool @CBLindsay in your spare time if you don't mind :ROFLMAO:

Straight up coffee has already been requested and he'll have to make 2 gallons of it when he perfects it.

Heck ya Mr @CBLSoap.com , coffee and muffin for a morning shave sounds awesome. Unless you go banana muffin, then I'll skip that offering. Nevermind, banana with an oatmeal base and coffee? I'm down for that too.

2019 Shave # 105 ( 158 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor: Game Changer .84
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (5)
Brush: TSC Legacy Brush
Soap: CBL Cherry Blossom & Bamboo
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Clubman Gent's Gin

So @Majorrich Video and Journal entries reminded me I haven't used my new @CBLindsay @CBLSoap.com Cherry Blossom & Bamboo yet. Well, let's fix that today. The scent is sweet off the tub but not overly and tames down from the bamboo when lathered. I'm digging this scent and will have to give more thought as to scents to pair with it. The residual slickness was Off the Hook and caused me to chase some but did so without any issues. Used some @LNHC Elixir just in case and between the soap and the Elixir my face feels astounding. I really appreciate the accumulative effect of these 2 artisans much more now after having a week or more with each and have come to a conclusion that I need to stick with theirs and occasionally intersperse other soaps between for 1-2 days so I keep the effect in play. Topped with the Gent's Gin and having a Muffin with Coffee. Have a GREAT weekend Cadre!! @GearNoir you wait another day or so though......

That Cherry Blossom and Bamboo sounds really nice and fresh! Yup...add that one to the list to buy also!

Again it isn't rocket science but pretty proud I saved about $800. If I could just explain to the wife that the money saved is now for my shave gear fund..............
Just tell her you will split the savings with her. $400 will still buy you a lot of soap! And this will set you up for future "savings." 🤪

Great shaves and pics Dave! If you allocate 50% of the money you saved to shaving, it’s a win/win.
Actually my wife is pretty accommodating of my buys..........................or oblivious....................depends on your viewpoint

2019 Shave # 106 ( 159 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor: Rockwell 6c Plate 4
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (4)
Brush: Sorrentino Custom, 1/4 Moon Synthetic
Soap: Cherry City Mustache Willamette Woods
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Stetson

Decided to use the sample from @Cherry City Mustache of Willamette Woods which is a nice obviously woodsy scent. Strong enough to enjoy without being overpowering. It lathered easy and was a nice protective lather with decent residual slickness with the help of some water. As seen in the pic of the soap after the shave I had plenty to do a lather soak on the face and it gave a nice moisturizing feeling. I enjoyed the shave and thank Jim for the sample. Topped off with some Stetson Splash and will add some Stetson Cologne before heading out the door. Feeding some at the house after services today and will post food pcs in the appropriate thread later. Have a swell day Cadre !!! @GearNoir enjoy your deserved weekend !
