Bourbon Country Shave Journal - Dave in KY

Wait, that doesn't look like GTB....oooooh ya. ?

I would like tomorrow off too please.

Good shave and read. Get those hours in so you can be at the hospital sounds like that is more important.

Bummer about the rough shave Dave. Hope your friend in the hospital Can turn things around soon.
Thanks Steve, getting ready for hr drive home from work and just heard they are finally resoonding to meds and may go home tomorrow. They take you from deaths door to the front door in a hurry these days.

They sure do. My father in law had a mass removed from his brain last January. He stayed one in the hospital and was cleared to drive himself home the next day. Of course, we didn’t let him do that lol.

2019 Shave # 12

Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate 5
Blade: Pol Silver SI (2)

Brush: Paladin 26s mm Honey Noir Beehive

Soap: Ballenclaugh Honey and Tobacco

Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Pinaud Clubman

My skin is VERY dry from the cold and wind working outside which is causing me to get some weepers. I need to start using some sort of moisturizer. Never cared for them or used them in the past as I don't like the greasy feeling. May need to try some of Stirlings to see how they are. Had a nice shave with the 6s but stopped at 2 passes rather than my typical 3 plus clean up to give skin a chance to heal. This soap was made for this brush and the Clubman was a nice paring with it. I used it because Don of the Dangerous variety gave me a sample some time ago leading to me buying a tub. Haven't seen him lately and hope all is well and he's just busy. His kind manner and humor adds a lot to this Cadre. Hope all in the Cadre have a GREAT day !!!!

You were a Nivea man, why not switch to their alcohol free post shave balm for the winter months?

That's a good idea. Don't want to make a purchase for now though("S" thing) so I realized this was in the cabinet for my flaking eyebrow area and put some on. Seems to be drying down nice so it may be what I try for a little. May revisit Nivea again don the road though, thanks

Well it's not a shaving item, and I know the name is weird. But The Stirling Body Butter is excellent! I actually put some on my face every night before bed, no greasy feeling at all. IT has also helped with my dry elbow and other eczema problem areas. I absolutely love the body butter.

And shouldn't have looked at your shave today. I love that scent on the soap. I wish it had a matching aftershave.

Yeah there is Nivia Men's Creme. I was going to check with Lisa from LNHC to see if she has anything.

I just started using one too because it is so dry and noticing the aging face loosing its snap.

LNHC is awesome at making nourishing balms and butters. I use her beard balm exclusively now for my moustache and goatee area.
