I'm not sure that was the message

True dat!

I think Chris uses a stand-in for his videos. He used the phrase “petered out” the other day. That’s an old dude phrase.

Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate 5
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (11)

Brush: Paladin 26 mm Harlequin Chief

Soap: Strop Shoppe Teakwood

Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
Aftershave 2: Avon Spicy

Chris of the Noir variety said to "Push" the GSB so who am I to contradict. So pulling out the 6s with the GSB for shave 11 got another smooth shave. The sharpness seems to be leaving but I still got an extremely close shave. It just required more strokes and work but zero irritation. We'll see how long it takes me to get bored with it. Took the Teakwood out for it's first spin and got a nice lather that just exploded in 10 seconds of loading off the tub. May have needed to shake the brush harder to rid it of more water. Still an awesome lather and enough for 3 plus passes. Topped things off with the Maravilla 70 and some Avon Spicy. After a strange route with the postal service it appears my "new to me" aluminum General left Knoxville early this morning which generally (see what I did there) means delivery this afternoon. Have a great day Cadre !!!

Nice set-up and photo, Dave. I was bummed when Strop Shoppe shut its doors - they made some high quality soaps.

I know of late a lot of artisans make soaps that likely out perform Strop Shoppe...but I still think Strop Shoppe might be the best all around soap. Hits all the areas that you want in a soap. Maybe not overly exceptional in any area...but pretty awesome in all! Four or five years ago...this was the best soap on the market!

Good shave Dave! 11 shaves on a blade is approaching my average!

Hope the General makes it safely and doesn’t disappoint!

Good on you for testing out longevity. I think blades have much more life than most give them credit for.

Also, the more you push blades, the more life you'll end up getting. I used to get a week, maybe two out of a blade. Now 2-4 weeks is pretty average for me.

Very nice shave and photo. I was tempted to look up Strop Shoppe soaps till I read further. Guess I missed out. That might be a good thing for me; I have too many soaps right now as it is.
