Bourbon Country Shave Journal - Dave in KY

I'm in agreement. I like the tonsorial base better because of the lathering and I don't nee post shave anything because I'll slather on all my stuff anyway.
Thanks Dave. Was trying to write more for a review to copy and paste as a review on another forum but hit snags with it....

Shave # 325 ( 378 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate 5
Blade: Wizamet (4)
Brush: Shavemac Ebonite 2 Band Silvertip
Soap: @CBLSoap.com Tonsorial Bergamot and Lemon
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Skin Bracer

Today was another CBL Tonsorial shave, this time with Bergamot and Lemon. Off the tub I didn't detect any citrus scent but figured upon lathering it would come out. On lathering I get a nice neutral scent I couldn't place but not anything citrus. I even grabbed my Premium Oud Minerale thinking it was that but no. Close to it but not a match. It's a pleasant scent but very neutral is all I can say. I wonder if it's just a pleasant soap base smell. I'll have to see what others think of it. Any way, on to the lathering and got the typical awesome lather for a great shave. I'm using the 6s for the next few shaves as my skin (Due to weather I suspect) has been feeling drying and rough. I'll probably go back to the CBL Premium for the rest of the CBL Week theme as well for the same reason and want the extra skin conditioning it provides. This tells me that while I enjoy the Tonsorial, it doesn't completely replace the Premium soaps at least for me. I want the face in shape for a Russian Razor coming for a pass around that has 4 different aggression plates to try out. Should be in time for Friday's shave and hope to do a video of it. Have a swell day Cadre !!

Shave # 326 ( 379 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate 5
Blade: Wizamet (5)
Brush: Brush from The Evil Empire
Soap: @CBLSoap.com Ghost Dragons Blood
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Proraso Green Splash
Fragrance: Spices Boom (Spice Bomb Clone)

Went with CBL Premium for the skin foods to prep my face for a Shave Razor Kit coming Thursday Evening and hopefully exploring the various plates it has starting Friday. Went on a little rant in the video that's uploading to the VLOG section. Attack a friend of mine and I get a little riled. I wasn't asked to do anything and hope he doesn't mind my drawing attention to it this way. Have a great day Cadre !!!

I dig those soapbox shaves. If I tried to talk and shave, I’d probably lop off a lip or something.

Nice shave and wrap up with the Hollywood spritzer.

Shave # 327 ( 380 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor: START (1.18 Gap) Razor by Homelikeshaving.ru
Blade: Wizamet (1)
Brush: Rubberset 400 with Maggards Tuxedo
Soap: @CBLSoap.com Orange Dirt
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Terre D'Hermes Splash
Fragrance: Terre D'Hermes EdT

1st run with the START razor produced in Russia and I chose to go big or go home. Went with the 1.18 gap and was surprised at how smooth it was at that wide a gap. I needed to pay a little attention but not much and got a great shave with just 2 pimples nicked off. Nice 1st outing and looking forward to playing with the different plates and angles to see my preference but to be honest at $150 for the complete it, it's a steal that I may not be able to pass up. We'll see. Video in the VLOG section. I started this way so, Have a Stupid Fun Day Cadre !!!
