2019 Shave # 70 ( 125 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor: Game Changer .68
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (3)
Brush: Shavemac 2 Band Silvertip
Soap: Lakewood Soap Mellow Honey Mash
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
Aftershave 2: Lakewood Soap Mellow Honey Mash Balm

So I wanted to go back to Lakewood Honey Mash since I got the AS Balm in. They don't make a splash which I would prefer but since it's all they have I thought I'd try it. I'm not a Balm guy and jury is still out till I have a few uses but I will say the scent is spot on to the soap. Razor was the Game Changer and had the .84 plate in but thought about what Rich said about the .68 just being more fussy about the angle (Narrower Sweet Spot) so I swapped for the .68 to have another go. Gave attention whole shave to maintaining angle and got a smooth comfortable shave but requires too much over and over areas to get the efficiency I want and get easier without issue from the .84. May visit the.68 occasionally when want a mild shave but for he skin feel I want daily the .84 is for me. Good to have checked though to know going forward. We're all have different variables and what fits one may not be anothers cup of tea (See how I slipped T into it there) Have a great day Cadre !!

Good Shave Today Dave! With all this talk about the Game Changer...I think it is on my short list to have. Chad says he thinks it's almost as good as his Timeless...which means that it's something else!

Thanks Don, That's what had me revisit it. The .68 I now confirmed why I sold it back then but the .84 is nice for me that is.

Great shave Dave. So it seems nothing special on the been aside from a great scent.

As to the Game Changer it truly is great for me too. I have no desire for another razor currently. And the finish is almost as good as the Timeless. With the price of the GC there really is no need for another razor unless you want a particular look. Just my opinion.

@Cvargo The balm is good. Didn't leave me greasy and dried down nice and moisturizing. As far as balms go, it's good and I'll use but I'm just not into balms in general. That said, some I won't use because of how they feel. This is a good one to me for a balm and the scent is dead on and NICE.

Thanks for the shout out Dave! I’m keeping the .68 plate around in the (unlikely) event I need a hangover shave, or if my downy-whiskered son takes up our hobby. I might do a stunt shave and have SWMBO attempt to shave me and the .68 would be good for that I think. (Still with a hint of risk)

Yep, keeping mine too even though will see minimal use. Hard to let go when you know they aren't making anymore of them (y)

2019 Shave # 71 ( 126 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor: Game Changer .68
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (4)
Brush: Brad Sears Arley
Soap: CBL Ghost Dragons Blood
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
Aftershave 2: Florida Water

So I decided while the .68 plate was on the GC I should give another shave with it before retiring it for the .84. Better results than yesterday but still requires a ton of touch up/clean up. Nice MILD shaver and a VERY narrow blade angle for efficiency. With @CBLindsay talking about another run of his Dragons blood and I was at the 2 I have in my rotating thru his soaps. Man this scent is intoxicating whether you like the cooling effect or not. If you don't have one of these, you owe it to yourself to get one for the den. This is one I had left the top off and it firmed up perfectly. Made for an incredible shave experience. Have great day Cadre !!

PS - My face feels GREAT. If I could only have a single soapmaker's soap, I believe it would HAVE to be CBL

What?! GDB and Florida Water?! Now that's just crazy talk! 🤪 Glad you gave the .68 plate another try. I know mild isn't your thing...but I can definitely see as to why it could be useful! It does soundd like up my alley though! Great Shave Dave!

Nice setup Dave! Glad the .84 is agreeing with you. Enjoy your Sunday! May the muffins flow freely this day! ;)

There’s a full shave of stuff I’ve never tried. Always good to have something mild in the wings for one of those shaves after a rough one.
