2019 Shave # 21

Razor: Mergress
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (3)

Brush: Sorrentino 1/4 Moon Synthetic

Soap: Barrister and Mann Diamond

Aftershave 1: Thayers Cucumber
Aftershave 2: Aqua Velva

So this morning I went with a sample o B&M Diamond. The scent off the sample was too light to distinguish and once lathering I got mainly a cinnamony scent which must have been the caramel I guess or just the combination/mix of some of the scents gave me that. Nice although I didn't think I was at a ball game.......Here is their description:
We blend notes of freshly cut grass, stadium soil, beer, leather, pine, cedar, popcorn, and caramel to conjure the unforgettable experience of attending a big league game during every shave. As the only shaving soap company in Cooperstown, NY, we’re very proud of our heritage and our soap. We hope you enjoy shaving with it as much as we enjoyed creating it. Play ball!

Nice slick and yogurty lather gave great protection and a VERY nice shave. Not sure which base this is in and forget who sent me this sample (sorry) but VERY nice addition to the Clown Puke tub of which I have a running list of all that is in it.

3rd shave with the Mergress and the best feeling to date. Got a nice and smooth shave so I must have dialed it in. I do think it isn't getting me as close a shave as I get with my other razors BUT I don't think I want to dial it up more and get a less smooth shave. I feel good after the shave now but the stubble comes back much sooner and thicker than what I normally have. It's a GORGEOUS razor and again f I saw one for the price this was on BST, I'd buy to have. I doubt I'd buy new though. It does have me thinking I need to add a Fatboy back to the stable since mine went in a trade deal. I appreciate Jim giving me a chance to take this for a spin and scratch the itch to knwo my feelings since they are different for all of us with different variables in the equation.

Icy weather has our services cancelled this morning so holed up at home and getting ready to have a brunch of Eggs, Biscuits, Sausage and Gravy. Have a GREAT day Cadre !!

Our storm hits tonight and all day tomorrow they are saying about 8-10 inches.

I was always curious about the Diamond soap but B&M scentsakee nervous... I've had too many misses.

I wish I knew before pounding it into the tub. I could have sent you some to try but no way to get it separated now as most of these soaps are so soft the meld together and become indistinguishable.

Mercy, first the baked goods and now biscuits and gravy???? First TSC meet-up at Dave’s house!!! Yep busy weekend here just getting things done and then relaxing from getting things done.

We would all be fat...err...fatter if we did that!

Nice shave Dave! I have a little bit of Diamond that Chris of the Gonzo variety sent me, but I haven't taken it out for a spin yet. Might need to check it out tonight.

Dave,
your lack of true baseball stadium experience was missing scent of hotdog.

Reading that scent profile kind of reminds me of the aftermath left under the seats of a ballpark.

Good writeup Dave. Thanks.

Echoing everyone’s thoughts on the biscuits and gravy... Sounds amazing!

We finally got some snow here in Michigan. Nothing crazy, but 6-8” or so. Winter is here...

Yep, white gravy. I'm not big on Red Eye Gravy

2019 Shave # 22

Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate 5
Blade: Pol Silver SI (7)

Brush: Razorock BC Silvertip Plissoft

Soap: B&M Le Grand Chypre, WCS Fougere and Wickham Parma Violet

Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Proraso Green

Got tagged by KJ for the 3 soaps in 1 bowl challenge and went with the above 3 soaps not for performance or scent although they all worked well together. Just shear opt to get thru some more samples. 1st experience mixing soaps and getting a combined benefit and Ohhhhhh how nice. Gives a small idea of what the Clown Puke tub will be giving which is now full and will maybe start another when I get a free tub. Nice well grounded subtly floral scent and awesome performance as it combined all there good attributes. Back to a mindless 6s shave and capped with Humphrey's and Proraso Green. Faucet change out and some studying today for a week long seminar I attend next week out of town. Video uploading so Don Dave (nurse) and Rich (Major) need to watch for there tagging. Have a great day Cadre !!!
