Okay manly grilling men of the cadre. After continual flare ups, rusted out parts, and 8 years of wear and tear my wife said it’s time to get a new gas grill. Looking for recommendations about brands. Just need thing nice and beefy that will stand up to the elements. Don’t need a side-burner, rotisserie, or searing station. Just enough for my burgers, hot dogs, and tri-tip.

FWIW I have a nextGen from Home Depot mine has 6 burners and a side burner, you will find that does help, and was a whopping 299.00 you can find them for 199.00 smaller. I have had it 7 yrs and no problem Only part I had to change was the ignitor. Webers are good too , but a bit more pricey. My next one will be another NExGen with a searing station. You will get a tons of advice on this one

a point to ponder... I have over 170 Mesquite trees on my property and enough felled wood and cut wood to fill a ton of Webers, not to mention a large competition charcoal grill. I use gas why??? Quick, Easy, Clean and ready in seconds, and allows me to grill every night if I want. If I want a mesquite or smoky flavor I take a stainless steel wood box, fill it with mesquite and put it right on the Hot grill, Allows for smoking too. Want to go low and slow for ribs, one or two burners 230-250 degrees and smoke away @CVargo taught me to use my grill as a smoker, Good news is when you are done, turn off the gas, dump the ash box, and done.. No cleaning a whole grill grill and dumping ashes, I rarely use, my green egg, nor my Weber Kettle anymore. With the propane and smoker box it is just easier.... If not manly... then lazy LOL

I mostly use my Webers (yes I have more than one) but I do have a cheap gasser on the back porch that I use in winter when I want to grill. It's a Grill Mate 2 burner ($150) that works fine for burgers. It's not going to hold up like a Weber gas grill.
I had a STOK previously that was nice and held up well but it's more money.

Here's my opinion since we know everyone wants my opinion as the world revolves around me.

First decide what you want to do, and what will match what you primarily want. I have multiple grills and smokers because I have the space and I like certain flavor profiles for certain things.

For what you are doing and unless you can figure out how to get rid of the salt in your air. I think your best bet is a gasser and a nice cover to help with the elements.

And a smoking class sorry I'm still laughing. Playing with fire and meat is in every man's blood. You don't need no steenking class. You need fire, whiskey, beer, and meat. The rest will come naturally.

I saw this at Lowes/Home Depot yesterday.. looks pretty slick.. I've not tried a pellet or propane grill ever though, let alone combo'd up like this.. pitboss brand..

if I had my choice, I'd be buying a Primo oval grill again..https://www.primogrill.com/ceramic-grills.html

I think my son has something like that. His is definitely a pitboss and definitely a pellet grill but I don't remember for sure if it has the the propane grill on the right side...but its a cool idea. If I am not mistaken his can be controlled with his phone so he can monitor the progress and make adjustments even if he isn't home.
