So Good I had to do it again


An afternoon shave today, after spending some time outside in this gorgeous misty, rainy, cool day. We finally got the @GearNoir rains that they have been having. Clould low on the mountain, cool and wonderful, which perfectly describes this soap set from Noble Otter. We have a huge Jasmine outside on our back porch, along with an Orange, and Grapefruit tree. Well with the rain and mist, and fog, lets see if the wandering Otter got it right

NAILED IT

With fragrance notes of Grapefruit, Orange Blossom, Jasmine, green tea, "mountain fog", sambac, and Tonka Bean, it perfectly captures the theme of the day in both, weather, and fragrance. Being. of course, all "matchy-matchy" The purple of the Yaqi, and the Hayashi, made for damn near the perfect shave.

Great way to start a Sunday.

Cloudy and cold this morning with temps in the high 30’s. Cloudy today with more rain and snow on the way, which may screw up the offroad canyon exploring, as high walled canyons and rain dont mix too well, and although the jeep can tackle almoay anything, flash floods are not one of them. So we shall see, as this is a pretty technical canyon I have not been in before

Anyway not the best sleep last night so it was a “Grab-n-Go” shave today as illustrated above

Another nice shave this morning for my last day in the shop before a week off for the Thanksgiving holiday the Nivea two and one is hard to come by so I found this Nivea deep that people have been using and it’s pretty good. I actually like it better.

More rain this weekend and cooler temps so it definitely feels like Thanksgiving. Hope everybody has a good weekend.

This was the winning gift from @novicewetshaver from the last bingo game, and WOW what a 1st shave. No surprise , as all the other N.O. sets are wonderful. This was hits a special spot as it is so much like savoy Steam from Pens. This is one I would suggest you try.

3 passes DSBBS++++++ Finished off with Nivea Deep and the Hamam Aftershave.

Day 2 Noble Otter - Hamam



Another Evaluation day with Hamam, another great shave only changes the Razor ( Fili 13), the Brush ( Sorrentino ), and added the Pen's Elixir Great shave for a mid 30's morning

Thanksgiving Shave


A very nice shave this morning, after some coffee, and watching the Macy's parade. A barbershop quick shave today with IMHO is the best Barbershop scent out there, and really captures what a true barbershop smells like. the barbacide, lather, aftershaves, hair spray, gel, wood, and of course just a touch of talc. Most barbershop scents are way to Talc or powder forward. This one is perfect

3-passes with the Vector and DSBBS, a few spritzes of the aftershave and ready to a nice quiet Thanksgiving.

At the Ranch:
Temps in the high 30's to low 40's to start the day, as I did a little walk-about some trees had come down after the major rains we have, and it looks like a few coyotes have set up a den in the far part of the property. The Dogs had fun, and Lyka decided to show me how quick she could dig a hold to China. When I called her to come back in the yard she went into turbo mode and added a few feet. Washed off her paws and face and she expected a treat. I think we should probably plant a tree there, to save me the hassle of digging HMMMM. Saw a bobcat couple also in the rear of the property, out for a Thanksgiving Stroll, and packrat dinner I suppose. Bobcats are fearless, but also really mellow. We crossed each others path, nodded and they went on there way, OF course I had mi pistola just in case and Lyka was stoic and growled, but no charge..... Kona on the other hand I had to retrain pretty good, and at that said kitties exited pretty quick

Anyway temps in the 70's today and a Sharon and I wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving

Chilly temps this morning, so a few items that I have not shaved with for a bit, and some un-obtainium. Fatboy, Paladin Chief, Natches Trace, Nivea Deep, and Ogallala Bay Rum, Lime, Peppercorn. A warming shave to be sure

Still nursing the straight razor slice on my cheek so back to the mellow feather ASD2. This Seaforth offering is probably one of the strongest.

It reminds one of the days of Drakkar and polo green

But very nice. It’s sad to see Dennis shuttering Seaforth, as it was one of the good ones

Another shave with Seaforth today. Black watch. I was an initial beta tester for this soap and I really do think that this is the best base that Dennis ever did.
Although I would say that this fragrance is only for winter time as it can become a little cloying in the summer

The Bergamont and Jasmine is definitely overshadowed by the leather Oak, moss, frankincense, and sandalwood, making this to me a very, very winter scent

Still nursing the slash from the straight razor I did try to do my east west and west east pass with that is still caught it just a little bit so we’ll continue with the feather ASD2 for the remainder of the week

Not a razor I use very much because it’s so mild but I’m finding that it is so efficient that I’m falling in love with a razor all over again matched with the persona lab blue. It works perfect perfectly.
