Happy Sunday folks.

Finally got a chance to sleep in for a change... well 0700 anyway, a pretty good night sleep, however a sore throat and some sort of Crud going on. Hopefully it is just a one day thing, but laying low today, and had to cancel a Rock Crawling Trip with some folks from Phoenix, Not A good idea to be in a remote desert location, on cold meds, while trying to navigate climbing waterfall obstacles, and rock gardens. So I will be a home body today, maybe some laundry and just be a slug today.

Anyway, the Nuavia products have always been nice and in most cases no frag, or aftershave is needed as the SOS on these is 5+. That being said, they do have a very lightly scented balm and emulsifies very quick and just enhances the soap residual frag, This one is a bit more "cologney" than most but very creamy in dry down.

The Razor today was brought out of the archives. The Feather ASD2 is a fantastic DE, although very mild with the feather blades. Many of us here have tried combos of bladed to dial in the efficiency. Today I found a stash of Nacet bladed, so why not. These blades used to be coveted, however, I now remember why i don't use them anymore. Today was one of my rare "4-Pass" shaves, as the 1st pass felt as if the Nacet had been run over by a truck, spit on, and grinded with the heal of a boot..... TERRIBLE. So not wanting to quite, I found a tuck of PolSilver bladed and finished up.. What a difference.
I did make me realize why I moved to Personna Lab Blues. IMHO not a better DE blade out there. But the PolSilver brought back memories.

Finished up with Alum, Talc, and Quinn's Cucumber Mint WH. For the Frag a Bespoke frag that @Sskim3 had made in NYC, some years back for our gift exchange. It matches perfectly with Nero. Too bad PCN is no longer avail, as it was at one time the top soap in the Den.

Have a Great Sunday Folks

Brute Shave Soap
Brut Aftershave / Cologne Splash

Well, finally feeling a bit better, still shaky and unsteady so not str8 razor today. Starting off with @BrisketGuy 's Novemboar. Using a Boar brush for the entire month. This is like Pungi sticks for 30-days, however not feeling well, it is a step up fro today and recent Hoboness. We will see how the rest of the month goes.

Since I used a mid 1940's Board Brush so named the "Division Bell", as the wood patterning show one half of the famous Division Bell head from Pink FLoyd. Scritchy as expected but provided a great lather from Brute from Mama Bears. The only Glycerin soap still in the den, and a perfect take on "Brut"

The Darwin got the call up today, and provide a nice 3 pass shave on 2.5 days of growth. DSBBS and followed by Alum, Quinn's Cucumber/Mint Witch Hazel, some clubman Talc, and of course both the Brut aftershave and Cologne Splash to finish. I did not realize until writing this that today 11.04.1930 was mine and Sharon's Fathers Birthday today. They would have been 95. They both loved Brut, they must have inspired today. Sadly mine was taken at 48yrs and Sharon's 59, but this proves they are still with us.

At the Ranch:
trying to get the legs back after being sick since Saturday, Thankfully not the Vid, just a bad cold, with a fever, no Wheeling this weekend, nor Drinks-n-Daves show this week. Hopefully will be ready to go back to the shop. Weather here is just beautiful.

Have a Good day folks

Have not used the original in quite some time, but after using it, it is still my favorite. Years ago when I wanted to come up with an aftershave and soap set that really represented my barbershop there was no other choice but CBL soaps we worked for many many months on the original fragrance and the original blend because I wanted it to feel like you were walking into a barbershop in an old West town like Tombstone, during the famous era of the gun fight at the OK corral

This original sent captured what it is really like to walk into a barbershop in the old west with fragrance notes that include jalapeño flower, gunsmoke, saddle leather, creosote, Russian thistle, better known as tumbleweed, and baked terra-cotta clay along with the dustiness of walking down Allen Street

This soap truly represents my barbershop, and the subsequent fragrances that followed, are all fantastic in spaghetti western, and Doc Holiday.

Each one of these sets in the tombstone collection, I’ll pay homage to the original and many of the fragrance notes are in the subsequent collection

Working with Chris on these has been fantastic and with at least three more in the tombstone collection coming soon they will all have this original fragrance in parts to keep Hombres BarberShop at the core of all of these sets

These are products that I’m extremely proud of

So for the shave today, I use the Joseph Elliott razor that was actually purchased at an estate sale in tombstone and has been verified from the time. Period and very well may have shaved one of the famous gunfighters.

Three passes DSBBS and finished off with the hombre‘s barbershop aftershave

This is and always will be my favorite since it was the originator

I’ve said it before, but I want to thank @CBLindsay for making a dream of having my very own product line a reality and also being one of my partners here at The Shaving Cadre

Have a good day folks

That’ll actually be up to me since it’s a branded product, but it’s not a bad idea

I've been using the original Hombres as my daily aftershave balm for over a year now. It never loses its unmatched wild west scent. Its definitely a fantastic product.

So nice that it’s my Friday, last day in the shop a fairly chill day with a couple of shaves and a couple of haircuts, including my favorite a flat top for one of my clients

With temps in the high 40s low 50s it was a perfect morning to do a nice priest sunrise Japanese inspired shave still taking part in Novemboar, so the semogue got the call up

Using the final remaining doughnut of the KAIZEN from A&E. And this is a Japanese inspired shave. I figured I’d use the majorrich gold dollar Kamisori

This one is a true left-handed, asymmetrical, and provided a wonderful shave

Finished off with the aftershave that matches the soap as well as a little bit of talc, an Penhaligon’s Endymion Concentre which matches the soap perfectly

Have a wonderful day folks

A very nice shave to begin the Weekend for me. Warmer today ( in the high 70's ) so the reminder of a nice gentle rain, and all the sniffs that come with that. Noble Otter knocked this one out of the park. with Bergamot, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, Freesia, Lily of the Valley, plum, Musk and "Puddles Ripple", which of course is not a frag, but all these combined give you that age old Question "What does a Puddle Smell Like? " LOL

Seriously, it smells like sitting on the porch during a long gentle rain. With all the smells of wet Trees and plants, decomposing leaves, wet ground, and grass, and all the various olfactory fragrances that come out during the rain.... Just perfect. Where there are we forests, Thar Be Dragons! Vicerion gave a nice DSBBS shave, and the remaining cast of characters made this a wonderful way to start a Sunday.

At the Ranch:
A pretty Chill day, actually worked in the morning for a client son who is getting married, so a "groomsman Day with shaves and haircuts", I did miss a 4WD meet up, but, and since it was an off day, The pricing I charged ( $300.00 a head ) was worth working for, and provided a cigar and a small dram of Scotch to all of them. 6:00 am was an early start, but worth it, An afternoon Zoom and a pretty Good Sunday overall

Have a Nice Day
