A Mish Mash of a shave today with the above cast of characters. This is one of the only razors that is a bit intimidating. Even straights and shavettes do not get this level of apprehension... I mean why not? if looks like a Deli meat slicer. Key is to keep the cap up against the skin, or face the rath of the GEM Sushi chef, with a nice transparent avulsion of skin...... Don't ask me how I know....

She treated me well today with a nice albeit DFS shave, as I was not going to go chasing with this beast. The TSC Clown Puke that @Spider made for the TSC Con in 2024 still is evolving into just a Baller of a fragrance mix, and continues to get better. Finishing up with Ruezel and English Leather made for a great synergy in fragrance journeys and a perfect shave

I'm not sure I'll ever find the bottom of Spider's Clown Puke tub......it was packed to the gills. But yeah....its a fragrance mish-mash....but in a great way.

A very nice shave for the first day back in the shop. TH 1805 is a wonderful wonderful aquatic sent the soap is typical British show takes a little bit of work but provide provided a nice three pack shave with the vector.

Finished off with lavender witch hazel some talc, and what I call a cathedral in the bottle with the Penhaligon’s Elixir

At the Ranch:
The mornings have been absolutely beautiful with temps in the low 60s so hint of fall are here and the elixir was a perfect choice for that. Temps in the afternoon are still warm however we are preparing for hurricane Priscilla. I’ll believe that when I see it the last time we had a hurricane that was supposed to hit us. It completely missed us and I just happened to be down at one of our river crossing and Jim Cantore from The Weather Channel. Was there very depressed as he had nothing to report on so I invited him to eat tacos and that’s what we ended up doing that afternoon is a really cool guy

Anyway, Priscilla is only supposed to be a topical depression by the time it hits us at on, but some reports are saying we’ll get 7 inches of rain again. I’ll believe that when I see it.

Monday we had a high of 80, yesterday was a high of 57. It was 32 at 5:30 this morning on the way to work... we don't get a gradual change haha.

A very nice shave today with vintage 1960s old spice soap and cologne. These were both NOS and found in a box years after my wife’s father had passed away.

So this shave is an honor of him

Well for you it’s Friday for me, It’s my Thursday and it seems for some reason that today will be shave day. I have eight hot towel shaves on the docket at the shop, which would be a lot of fun.

Nothing is as refreshing as a PRORASO shave, especially in the eucalyptus or green version that coupled with a pallet and shave brush, and a nice Italian straight razor made for a perfect shave

Finished off with cucumber, witch hazel, Proraso green aftershave, some talc , and Ferrari bergamot EDT

More stuff, no longer to be had. All L'Occitane, with some beer and a sharpie from PA. was the Shave of the day. The EA has a very soft edge and provided a very nice 3 pass shave today. A citrus blast from the WH, the balm, and the Cedrat Edt. a bit cool and rainy today so a bit heavier on the parfum L'Occitan.

At the Ranch:
Another rainy day on tap, thanks to the remnants of Hurricane Raymond and Priscilla. A whole ton of Water Rescues in the city and our neighbors to the North got it even worse. we have made it ok, due to our elevation, but there will be no "wheelin" today for the holiday and the running washes and mountain trials, however A Tuesday Barber Errand day is on the way

Unobranium Day #3

A retro scarcity shave today with Vintage goodness and a face freezer to boot. The Williams was a very kind gift from @MarkB and the Fatboy was found NOS in a case, in a box, never used by @AvocadoQueen 's father. Her mom was going through stuff after he passed away, found this and put it away. Years later during some cleaning it was re-discovered and gifted to me, all brand new, vintage and shiny. I have cherished it ever since, and use it occasionally in tribute to Cecil, her Dad
Finished off the Osage rub, AV Sport and all the other characters in this shave play. DSBBS and off to a Tuesday Edition of Barber Errand Day.


At the Ranch: The rain in over, leaving some breezy conditions, and a beautiful day in the low 70's. As much as we needed the rain (over 3 inches at the house), the destruction and death to surrounding communities was how mad it gets when a relatively dry area, can quickly become a torrent. Only a few trees down on the "unlived" portion of the ranch, so we will let the earth reclaim those, and give a "hidey hole" for the critters

A very nice minimalistic shave today with Scottish Arran Lochranza
Now completely un obtainium , the soap, aftershave balm , EDT evoke a a patchouly an anise vibe with sea salt and very earthy flavors to provide a nice shave

Definitely feeling like you’re on the shores of Scotland shaving

The Viking gave me a very nice DSBBS shave and fit the shave well

At the ranch:
Cool enough to actually put on a jacket on the way to work today

Leather, cigars, club, chairs, nightclub vibes, and scotch sounds like a good way to start a Saturday. A great shave with drinks and Dave’s replica and soloist

The Chevalier did a great job on the shave as did the Sorrentino Corleone

A mid-morning shave today with, and as we continue the "unobtainium" series. Flak Bait is a wonderful combo of Black Cherry, Rum and Smoke. and a very good soap. Too Bad Dale is no longer making these products. the WWII themes are just the "Cherry" on Top. Each soap having it's own unique story. One of the Good Ones that is no longer with us.

As expected the Essence provided a great 3 -pass shave, although she gave me a little kiss on the Chin today. Other than that a DSBBS Shave. Finished off with the "Chamelion" of post shave Pitralon. This stuff just goes with everything.

At the Ranch:
Gorgeous weather, and working on the Winch on the jeep today, before the zoom call this afternoon
