The Occam Enoch left a lot to be desired today after one shave. The Vector is JUST SO GOOD! I will be trying the other Occam later this week.

Ya I am going to give it one more chance and then probably call it. We’ll see. To many great shaves coming up to waste more non-straight shaves LOL

I really need to try a Vector. I wasn't impressed by the Occam. The Colonial Razors General is a much better razor than the Occam.

Barbershop Soap Shootout
Day-4

Welcome to Day 4 of the Shootout. Today was probably the most recognized shave brand of products in the world, and is also one of the most associated with Old School Barbering as well. The barbering we know of today largely is the product of the small Italian barbershops and where many of the greatest shave products and techniques were born.

I had every intention to call the contest of the razors today, however the Occam threw a 4th quarter pass for a touchdown to remain in the game for another day of testing and comparison. It has a LARGE deficit to surmount, and I think the results will maintain on the Vector, but again, will give it a chance.

Today's shave was the BEST of the Shootout so far. Proraso needs no introduction, nor fanfare, it is just GOOD. DSBBS today and more thought in the attached Video

All I can say is regardless it’s a pretty dang good razor.
It is. In my mind however it comes down a simple comparison. The Vector is to the F-22 Raptor as the Occam is to the F-4 Phantom, as the Asylum is to the A-10
All great but nothing matches and checks off all the buttons like the Vector IMHO

Day -5 Barbershop/Razor Shootout
Bit of an audible today and decided to finish up the Occam / Vector Shootout with the Vector. We have a winner........ The Vector. both good razors but the Vector is just Great. My video explains why I came to that decision and is linked below.

Bayolea is a contender as a modern barbershop scent, and unlike many triple milled English Soaps... This one lathers and does it well. A dryer brush load, careful to add agua just wen needed prevents breakage, and provides a great race track surface for the race car that is the vector.

3-passes, very little cleanup, and DSBBS, liberal on the aftershave, some new Proraso Rosemary & Mint Talc and the Bayolea EDT and....... Wonderful., Just wonderful.

Day - 6 will take us, in our continuing Barbershop Tour to Spain, and then back on over to the US. Stay tuned and thanks for reading/watching

Day-6 Barbershop/Razor Shootout

Today we journey to Espana, for the perfect representation of a Spanish Barbershop. If you have ever been to Spain, Barrister & Mann Capture all the scents, sights, tastes, and culture of the Seville Region of Spain. It is a fun scent yet refined, a scent that makes you feel alive, happy and that you just left the best of the best of barbershops. A bit more spicy and peppery, but still the essence of an old school shop.

The performance is typical of the older formula of B&M and lathers well provides nominal slickness and great post shave. A tier 1 soap, not elite, but still very nice. What would a Spanish shave be without a Spanish Razor.....An old Spanish razor. When talking the Best of the Best in razors, the conversation must include if not dominate with the word FILARMONICA.

The older JMP models are the best and arguably the best steel ever produced on a razor with the "Fili 14" being the pinnacle. Add to that the Specialized versions such as the Medallon Taurino Capote, and add "Sevilliana" to the scales and you are in for a treat.

Three passes today for a perfect DSBBS (G) shave. This soap is most definitely a contender and runs in the top 5 in the race right now. Finished with a lovely dousing of La Toja and the same with a poured Vasilli rapture of the Cologne and ready to do some shaves and cut some hair! See you for Day - 7

Day-7 Barbershop/Razor Shootout
Another Good Shave with Mike's, a unique contender as I believe it uses Duck Tallow. Not quite as slick as the others, but post shave is not notch. All worked in unison today. A bit more powdery than a traditional barbershop scent but still nice. Would have been a DSBBS shave, however a little kiss on the lips of crimson negated that. A bit of inattention on my part as the DC-10 ad Sikorsky's are flying overhead, and of course...Shaving or Aircraft... hmmmm who "squirels" me the most HAHA.

All in all a great shave as we enter the last 5- days or so of the shootout.
