Anyway.....The best laid intentions....... Shave was going tremendously and what does the "idiot" do ( ME) I touch my upper chin with the blade ever so lightly while not moving and BAM racing stripe OOP.
Dude, you just warned us about that in one of your last videos! :ROFLMAO:

Well the best laid intentions......... more on that later. 1st off Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there and Happy Muthas Day to all the members here I call Bruthas. Hope you are having a good day with family, both in person and extended if need be.

The Shave:
Continuing with @dangerousdon 's theme month from Lime to Tangerine and Mandarin Oranges today. As stated in my Video Blog the Razor is near and dear to me for a couple of reasons One is that is is from Tombstone and a very important time in history, and two it led me to whom had become a good friend @uacowboy, as he did the restore.
BTW I am still looking for one winner from yesterday's video PIF and I will just say he may have some similarities to the name of my Razor... and as for today I will be picking a winner, but ya gotta watch to win. HEHE

Anyway.....The best laid intentions....... Shave was going tremendously and what does the "idiot" do ( ME) I touch my upper chin with the blade ever so lightly while not moving and BAM racing stripe OOP. So by DSBBS shave is notched down to DFS-BBS due to the "DOH". All the accountrements were fantastic and now in an Orange shirt, and in OrangeTangerineMandarinapalooza heaven.

Have a Great rest of the day!
I remember that razor well. One of my very first commissioned restorations. plus that grind is just super cool!

now i gotta go watch the video to see that touchdown. lol

Date: 05.11.2020 SR Shave #1734 (holding) DE Shave Today
Razor: King Gillette CC DE
Blade: King Gillette (1)
Brush: Saponificio Varesino Artisan 2.0 Ivory / HMMW Badger
Soap: Saponificio Varesino Stella Alpina
Aftershave: Saponificio Varesino Stella Alpina
EdP: Chanel Bleu de Chanel

DE bound today, as on a whim yesterday and thanks to @Spider 's CECing I discovered Gillette came out with a new DE, why a DE you ask, when I rarely shave with one? TWO LETTERS or TWO WORDS...... AD, or Acquisition Disorder LOL.

All online resources said nope, not in stock, online or in stores, but being the intrepid AD'er I went to my local Walgreens ( only place selling them) and scored two, one for the collection never to see the light of day and one to play with. At $30 WTH why not. I have a full review both in video and Written format and will provide the link below, should you care to read and watch and would like 20- minutes you will never get back.:p;)

Da shave:

This razor is super mild and the blades are smooth ( probably rebranded Astras ) and this is a EJ-89 in King Gillettes Cloaks. Nice but very tail heavy. It required all of 3-passes and clean-up to get BBS and if you like more agressive DE's this is not the razor for you, other than the collectibility. That stated was a very easy going, mild, no concentration shave today, which was a nice change from my "chin altering" guffaw from "Mr. Tombstone.

A nice splash of the Skin enriching SV aftershave, some talc and a couple of Vasilli's of the BdC and a good start to a Monday, or whatever day this is after blending all into one since March 15th, LOL

Brush: Paladin Chief / M&F Blonde Badger
Soap: Mrs. (@The Monkey ) Base / The Veg Shave Soap
Aftershave: Pinaud Lilac Vegetal

Social Distancing Shave today with the fragrances and soap only a cat could love..... well and a Cigar smoking Gambling Old lady, and of course the Dun Dun Daaaa
"Knights of the VegTable" and the "Order of TabacaVeg"

Match that with a Paladin Brush and the CV Heljestrand MK*30, and you have the makings of a perfect shave, and one where you can be alone for the day with no Mortal person bothering you, unless, if like me you have "La Diabla" as a spouse and she love any iteration of Tabac, The Veg, and any mixtures. Yes, Iam one of the Lucky ones to not only have been "Chosen" but also have My Lady... well OK BOSS that has been "Chosen" by the Ladies of the Veg and Tabac!

Shave was as expected and it was good to be back on SR's again. The Heljestrands can be evil mistresses if not treated right and will open you up like a window on a hot summer day if not attentive. The travel across the face today was uneventful, as I was careful not to yet again open up the crimson canyon created a few days ago. I am lucky in that regard that I heal up pretty quick on the face. I wish I could say the same for me knees, of which I had a small procedure a few days ago, and has kept me off the bike.

The tribulations of having more titanium and steel in your knees and back, than a 57 Chevy, LOL. Too many years of hard jump landings, repelling from moving objects, ladders and kneeling for a good portion over Patients, not to mention being WAY to far overweight in my later adult years due to Food and Laziness.... Well, and sitting at a desk for too long. All in the past now, back to good health and weight and GREAT SHAVES!

3-passes today DSBBS, followed by a liberal dousing of "The Veg" and and equal deluge of TabacaVeg, Talc and a Hearty "HUZZAH". Just perfect!

Have a Great day!

That was quite the read Dave! I'm glad that your wife likes that scent. There has only been one scent of my soaps that my wife did not care for. Also, great SOTD pic!

Dave...the hardware on your shave is superb (not to be confused with a SuperbOwl)...that soap and aftershave? Well that truly is a social distancing shave. Forget six feet...no one want to get within six states of you! Guess that means I need to move to Georgia!

Oh and on your actual journal entry?

Razor: CV Heljestrand MK*31
Brush: Sorrentino Barzini/ Tuxedo Synthetic
Soap: VCS Flight Engineer
Aftershave: British Sterling
EdP: Penhaligon's Blasted Heath

Very smooth and easy shave today the ladies 30 and 31 have been nice to me so far this week and not re-arranged any skin. The Flight Engineer is a mixture of Ginger, Bamboo and Cococut ( more of the husk really ). It gives a nice South Pacific Island feel to it, without the Sun Tan lotion fragrance of some "Beach Soaps"

3-passes for a nice finish, some talc and a couple of Vasilli's of Blasted Heath to add the Salt water of the Ocean vibe.

Razor: C.V. Heljestrand MK*32
Brush: ShaveMac Colonia No 1 / Two-band Silvertip
Soap: CBL Orange Dirt
Aftershave: Fine L'ORange Noir
EdC Flor de Naranja

Another Swedish Beauty shave today with the Queen, and the meanest of all straight razors in the stable. She is a Fearsome mistress and have given me some of the worse injuries and stripes I have ever had. @Polarbeard "Arne" has the same issue with his 32. You just have to respect the dickens out of her and give her respect of she will wat you alive.

Today, she must have been in a good mood after a nice rubdown on Linen and Leather. The dark feeling of the Orange dirt, and L'Orange Noir, allowed her that Lauren Bacall feeling, so she was nice for the 3-pass shave. Rewarded with DSBBS, and nice splash of both the Fine and Naranja and a great start to a day that went straight to the pooper. Internet went out and COMCAST is literally the worst on the planet for Customer Service and from about 7:00 am till about 6:00 pm we toiled and tussled. With it ending in me having to drive all the way to the ONLY store in Tucson some 30 miles, one way. Hence the late posting as we re-connected everything.

Thankfully I had a good shave in the early AM
