Good Day to you, on this Memorial Day 2018. Afternoon shave today, as we placed flags out at our local Catholic Cemetery today, As I do each year, and I visited my mom and Dad whom are buried in the Veteran's section of Holy Hope, the same cemetery. Dad served in Korea in a M*A*S*H* in Guam as a field surgeon and Mom served during Korea in Germany as a RN. She later stayed in the reserved and attained a final rank of Colonel. So it was a somber morning, but I stuck around the place to talk to other as we paid out respects. The Colorguards from all the services were there. I don't let Sharon come with me to these things, as I do not want her to witness some of the guilt, as I was lucky enough to make it home, when so many were not, no a silent reverence is better for me.

Anyway back at Daffy's Farm & Chicken House, I decided I had gone one day too many without a shave. As I looked up on Shelf 3 I decided to also give a nod to Sharon's Dad, whom also served in the Air Force during Korea, by using the stash of original Old Spice for 1963 that we found.

It still amazes me that the Shulton Old Spice Soap still gives off a wonderful aroma when lathered, being 55 yrs old. Much different than today's Old Spice, and the performance is off the charts. The new formulary is a bit sharper and spicier than the original Shulton, which to me is best described as creamier, softer, but with no doubt it is Old Spice, and the staying power is awesome, to coin Chris, I totally Dig it!

The Feather appreciated a nice lather to scrape smooth and efficient and the pro-guard blades are so nice. 3-passed and no clean-up needed for DSBBS (G). A nice dollop of the Cypress and Vetiver followed by a very liberal splash ( dousing ) of the Shulton Elixir. for a great shave to bring my spirits back up.

Hope everyone is having a nice holiday.

Wonderful tribute Dave. The work put in to the flags as well as personal reflection does not go unnoticed by those we honor. Happy Memorial Day, brother.

I can't even imagine how that must feel. You are doing a great thing putting out the flags in remembrance though.

Great shave, picture, read and a nice tribute Dave!

It was in the movie "Taking Chance" that the Korean Veteran said to Lt. Col. Mike Strobl, "You're his witness now. Without a witness, they just disappear." I think that applies to you Dave!

Brother I will never understand the guilt that returned home soldiers feel. So all I will say is this citizen was praying hard for all those guilty soldiers.

Thanks Craig, I did a tour as an escort toward the end of my AF career, it is humbling, but I will never forget the honor to be allowed to do it, and Taking chance in one of my favorites.

A rather late afternoon shave today. What is it they say about the best laid plans of mice and men? I had , like NurseDave mentioned, planned on really doing NOTHING today as this weekend was busy with chores and of course the never ending saga at Daffy's Duck farm and Chicken Emporium, LOL

Anyway I had opted to give the foul a day off, but as I went out with my cup of coffee to enjoy to cool morning air (75 degrees) and all the flowering plants of Sharon's new desert jungle oasis, I noticed that Daffy, The Large Pekin duck, looking at me as if to say, of course in a 4-week old's voice... "Garcon...Our pool needs cleaning, snap to it" Of which I replied before looking behind me ..." I have Duck sauce and a spit and a gas grill, and will use it you Oranged beak poop factory!"

You know that feeling you get when you know that imminent doom is upon you...... Well that is Sharon. Period. I swung around, and like a wraith she was on me, in my face....With that look. Of course I did what any tough ex-combat Vet would do.... Puffed up my chest..... To a step back.... Lowered my head.....Said I was sorry, and went to clean the pool. I could swear I hear both Daffy and Spaz laughing, with the youngster chicks providing back up.

Anyway one thing led to another and it was 2 pm. So I showered and shaved The Koraat was in good form as was everything else today, DSBBS(G) today. It was such a nice shave I made A video of it, and it will be up in the Media Forum soon for anyone who is interested to see exactly how ling I take from start to finish, inlcuding hair, and mustache construction.

Have a Good Evening Folks!

Great shave and picture Dave!

So how many hole do you have to dig to get back on Sharon's good side?

You know the more you keep using my razor the more you will have to hone it for me.

Nice read... How's your duck poop doing lol

Great shave Dave.

A razor of that caliber should really belong to someone that prefers traditional straights to those wannabe feather systems. They are good shavers, but no replacement for the real thing.

We are beyond Holes now, she has discovered the "junk pile" at the far reaches of the property and now I am lugging planks, bricks, and so forth. It may never end, LOL
