BarberDave's Shaveapalooza

Thanks Don. Started using it about 6-7 months ago. AS you know I did that comparison at the other joint on pre / post shave routines and IMHO finally found that most pre-shave products are snake oil, and a good pre-shave lather massage was all that was needed to create more slickness through you own own sebacious glands. the one caviat to that was good ole cheap noxema, but still the lather won out.

So since I did pre-shave, I did some post shave testing and some discussions with Angel Delgadillo whom has been a barber since the early 60's. I had asked him about a mysterious white tub he had on his counter. It was King's post shave salve. Which now, is extremely hard to come by, so he had mentioned the Lucky Tiger Vanishing and Disappear Cream as a way to massage moisture back into the face and adding just one more post shave layer to make your face feel good. I have tried both the Vanishing and Disappearing. both have Aloe, Mint, and menthol. Don ( Quijote ) had given me a sample of the Vanishing, and it seems to be a bit higher in Mint and less in menthol, so once my current tub is finished I will get that.

I use it as I mentioned in my journal. Once I rinse after my cleanup pass, I leave my face wet and apply a small amount into the skin, and massage it in. I follow this with a cold water towel and cold water rinse prior to application of any aftershave. I find it makes my face feel much smoother and healthy.

Thanks for asking

No that is very interesting! I might have to try some myself. Thanks for taking the time to answer.

Great shave and picture Dave!

Bummer that Paladin soaps and ASB is pretty much unobtainium now.

Penhaligon's Sartorial Shave Soap

Penhaligon's Sartorial EdT

Nice early morning shave, although bit rushed. Another offering from Shelf #3, but one I normally save for the winter, but what the heck.

3 passes today and the Sartorial lather was fantastic as was the Wosty. DSBBS was the order of the day. Finished up with the Balm and EdT for a nice overall start to the day.

The Pen's Sartorial is a very strong frag for an EdT, and borders EdP strength, a nice mix of Beeswax, leather, honey, and wool. It does indeed smell like a tailor shop.

Set-up: No PhotoToday.

Have a Nice Day Gents

Don't worry guys I'm calling Sharon. Dave MUST be sick. No photo???? How do we even know this shave happened?

I hope you are on the mend!

What??? No Photo?? Surely this is a sign of an impending apocalyptic event. Either that or someone has hacked and hijacked Dave's account. Could be that Sharon finally had him dig that "hole".

Then again it could just be he was in a rush to get to a Menudo concert!!

No wait I know what it is, his eyes finally revolted against him for all the Magic Eye bingo calls.

Well guys according to Sharon after his shave he got stuck contemplating the meaning of life. Sat in his chair grabbed a big bowl of peppermint candies (he has a lot for some reason) and turned on some lovely tunes of Menudo and Banda Proscutto.
