Koraat LDV for SV 6/8
Saponificio Varesino Artisan 2.0 / Tortoise / HMMW
Saponificio Varesino Opuntia Shave Soap / Aftershave

Well it is official Opuntia has taken the top spot in the den. No small feat considering that 70th was the reigning champ for so long, years in fact. This stuff is just that good. Being awoken this morning to the rattling of Sabers and villiage posse's upset about bingo, I was up early, on a day that I did not need to be ( HEAR THAT CHAD!)

Anyway it was a nice early morning, so go the ducks and chickens settled and decided to Shower and Shave.

As expected, everything worked in sync today on a Galactic level. The edge smoothness could not have been better, as Leonardo skated around to create a masterful shave, the soap ( insert your own amazing adjective here) was stellar on all levels, and at the end of the shave I just re-lathered twice, because I could, to enjoy all the nirvana that is Opuntia.

Finished of with the Aftershave with a couple of drops, and re-visited once talc'd for a couple of Dotties to work as a frag.

3-passes and DSBBS (G)(10+). This shave was the absolute best. This one is going to be hard to dethrone if ever

now time to go take a nap, LOL ( Not Really)

Have a good day Folks

Cool photo, Dave. And one day I might give the Opuntia a try - perhaps it'll be sitting on the shelf at Merz when I'm there sometime so I can see how it smells.

Man O man, I have that waiting in the wings once I'm done with my Shannon's Soap samples. Can't wait. That's a nice way to display your shave.

Great all-SV set-up and shave today! Great creativity on the photo as well...now, doesn't Sharon have some holes out back that need to be dug?

Nice shave Dave. I will be ordering the Opuntia soon.
Good looking shave there. I will get around to SV one of these days.

Thanks Guys and Josh,....... ALWAYS, LOL

Hey Dave! Love the shave! What's with Lucky Tiger!

Thanks Don. Started using it about 6-7 months ago. AS you know I did that comparison at the other joint on pre / post shave routines and IMHO finally found that most pre-shave products are snake oil, and a good pre-shave lather massage was all that was needed to create more slickness through you own own sebacious glands. the one caviat to that was good ole cheap noxema, but still the lather won out.

So since I did pre-shave, I did some post shave testing and some discussions with Angel Delgadillo whom has been a barber since the early 60's. I had asked him about a mysterious white tub he had on his counter. It was King's post shave salve. Which now, is extremely hard to come by, so he had mentioned the Lucky Tiger Vanishing and Disappear Cream as a way to massage moisture back into the face and adding just one more post shave layer to make your face feel good. I have tried both the Vanishing and Disappearing. both have Aloe, Mint, and menthol. Don ( Quijote ) had given me a sample of the Vanishing, and it seems to be a bit higher in Mint and less in menthol, so once my current tub is finished I will get that.

I use it as I mentioned in my journal. Once I rinse after my cleanup pass, I leave my face wet and apply a small amount into the skin, and massage it in. I follow this with a cold water towel and cold water rinse prior to application of any aftershave. I find it makes my face feel much smoother and healthy.

Thanks for asking

Vorpal 6/8 Barber Notch
Sorrentino Barzini / Tuxedo synthetic
Paladin Tobacco Road Shave Soap
Paladin Aftershave Balm
Clubman Reserve Brandy Spice aftershave Splash.

Tobacco Road is a bit of a heavy scent for the early summer, however as I continue the tour of Shelf #3 fo the soap locker it came up. As with all the Paladin Soaps it is top notch. Good in every performance aspect. the fragrance is Tobacco all the time with a hint of Brandy spices. Honestly to me it smells of a very high end Cigar & Pipe shop that sells liquor. Very nice.

The Vorpal proivided a nice 3 -pass shave today for DSBBS, a trip to the coti is in this razor's future for a refresh as the trans-ark post shave is just not cutting it for Senor Vorpal.

finished off with the Paladin Balm, and the Clubman Reserve Brandy Spice for a frag. Good shave today
