Excellent shave, the BBS was found, three passes with the Bizmarck, just a little touch-up done with the Feather AS D2 (Feather Blade of course). The scent is like a wart, kinda grows on you. Very harsh mossy, seaweed odor to it, yet for me, there is something more and more appealing to it. Must be like Scotch, an acquired taste. Guess when we come to the bottom line, all any of us have to please is ourselves.
Peace...

Nice setup today Bob! I’m a fan of the DE cleanup, post open blade shave, as well. Best of both worlds if you need a little speed on the last past!

The DE cleanup is the only way to go, I was watching 👀 some YouTube videos on shaving with a cutthroat and some of them went on about how if you aren't on only the cutthroat within 30 days you need to give it up and stay with just the saftey razor.
Well, they can jump in a lake! For me, shaving is a very personal experience and I'll do it however I want.
So glad to meet someone else who's a fan of the DE cleanup!

What a shave! Add in two more razors for this one, Hoffritz circa 1960 and Feather Artist Club DX loaded with a light professional blade. Passes one and two were done with the Hoffritz, pass three with the Artist Club, and a fourth and final with the Feather AS D2. On a side note picked up the Hoffritz on eBay just because I happen to like them, in the middle of restoration on the one I used, if you think she looks bad now you should've seen her before I started. Anyway, the Hoffritz can and will take an edge which is what I was concerned with. Some of you are probably wondering why in the hell would this nutcase use three razors on a single shave......quite simply, it worked extremely well and you never know till you try! Now off to a good night's sleep with a shave that rivals a professional.
Tomorrow another day of protecting the good citizens of the metropolis to which I call home. (No, I'm not associated with any law enforcement agencies)

On a side note, so far all the Razorock soaps I've used produce a wonderful lather and have a nice scent!
I use a shave bowl (I have several different types) to work a lather, so far boar and badger work equally well, synthetics take a lot more work to get a lather as nice as the naturals whip up.20230127_072231.jpg

Razorock is good stuff! Back 10 years ago they were one of the first soaps I owned after Mama Bears got me started. I'll have to pull their soap out and revisit them, its been a while.

Have a great day!

Matt

Yeh, I’ve run across these guy over the years. Ego-maniacs, all of them. In my videos I advise, just stay with it whether it takes 30 days, 90 days, a year or longer. The fact is we never stop learning and discovering. I’m 7.5 years in and I’m still learning.

I got a sample of that scent after reading a raving review on it.
Your thoughts were close to mine. Glad I only bought those samples. Come to think of it, they are probably still here somewhere.
Great tools, Bismarck and ASD2

I've watched several of your episodes (yep, I did subscribe) and have enjoyed every one! Keep up the good work and keep her between the lines!

Absolutely a wonderful shave! Although I didn't have Moneypenny to assist me, a shave that was as good as it gets! Hot towel and OSC #2 Floral pre-shave oil, nice lather with The #48 Omega boars hair. Three passes with a freshly honed Dovo straight edge and suddenly the BBS has arrived!
Forgive me for cutting this short, I am late for a card game at Casino Royale.
