Did my first 3 pass shave yesterday and it felt great get completely smooth again. BBS / BBS- everywhere. Standing with a walker and shaving can be interesting, but I manage alright. I don't really do any clean-up because after a shower, shave, and a tooth brush I'm ready to sit-down.

On the personal side of things, I'm getting bored already which isn't good. I have a walking routine with my walker around the house that I do every few hours that takes me by windows and things I enjoy looking at. I have lots of good reading material, but I miss doing things with my hands.

Today's Shave: Shave #155

Another 3 pass shave this morning with face lathering. I understand why you guys enjoy face lathering so much. Hey, it cuts down on time for sure. A solid BBS / BBS- this morning gents. Still keeping up the wet shaves even when pressing the easy button would make my morning less complicated. There is a joy and sense of manliness though that starts my day well and I think will help my poor mammoth stubble on my leg to grow back in time for respectable short wearing weather that's coming soon. Grow leg hair, Grow!:ROFLMAO:

Was just in fun ribbing. I'm sure it ain't no picnic Mike !!

Oh I know Dave, I just realized I forgot to put an avatar in there. I just want to make sure I keep my man card as you are the official "Keeper of the Man Cards" on TSC  I'm thinking I get some points for keeping up with the wet shaving only missing the days I was in the hospital.

How'd I get that responsibility? I don't like responsibility :ROFLMAO:

On Monday I was cleared and upgraded to my cane from the walker. This brings a sense of normalcy back into my life as my cane seems more like an extension of my body than the walker did. Yesterday I walked into the hospital to get blood drawn and back out with just my cane. It's hard to believe that 7 days after a hip replacement and I was using a cane. I feel like I accomplished something.

I decided to just start up my 3 pass shaves as I used to do. If I'm going to get back to normal I've got to start somewhere, so shaving was the easiest place. Not really trying I get a fine shave in the BBS area. I was being lazy so I just face lathered again and it worked pretty good. I may just start doing this regularly since I really don't get much from the bowl lathering experience.

This was another face lathering day as I just about killed the tub of Mystic Water Bay Rum. a fine 3 pass shave again in the BBS area. This face lather wasn't as nice because I probably needed more product, but it got the job done.

This was the first morning where a shower, shave and brushing the teeth didn't make me tired so that was encouraging. I decided to really grab my favorite soap for a fine 3 pass shave. I got a solid BBS- without really trying. Good enough is just fine these days. I figure most in my situation wouldn't even bother shaving so it puts me a notch closer to normal living and it makes me feel good to be clean shaven even if I'm in my lazy clothes all day long.

I am getting along much better than a week ago. I still have a lot of swelling at the incision site and pain of course, but all that is normal. In 3 weeks my 90 degree restrictions will be released and that will be helpful. Right now I can't bend 90 degrees or more at the hip in order to prevent dislocation while everything heals and tightens up. If you think about your normal day, this restriction creates some unusual living.

Thanks for sharing, quite a read about the hip surgery. Thankfully recovery times are surprisingly quick with them. You'll be back to full vim and vigor in no time now.

Those pain pills do me in too. Had a hernia surgery last Christmas, and I was off them as fast as possible. Just don't like to fell that fuzzy.

Great shave and read, Mike. I love that soap as well, and still need to break down and order that scent in the EDP. I could probably still get away with using it since we’re still in snow temps here lol.

Sweet progress. I was thinking I hope you have a sweet cane to use, but hopefully you won’t need one for long.

Yup, I have that cane I made a while back. It's been great to use it. I have orders for canes just like it as soon as I can stand and forge again. I finally ordered my blacksmith touchmark to mark my work when it's hot so I'm ready to start making more things that can be sold. When I get going I'll definitely pay the money and become a hobbyist

No shave today TSC. The plumber did work yesterday and we had to keep the water off in there this morning. I'm in no shape to do plumbing work and it was a really crappy area that I've been putting off doing for a long while.
