2019 Shave # 103 ( 156 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor:Rockwell 6c Plate 4
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (3)
Brush: Brad Sears 26mm Arley
Soap: LNHC Smoked Black Tea
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Proraso Green

Well I'm enjoying @LNHC soaps this week and the skin feels awesome. @CBLindsay nailed it when he indicated using his and Lisa's soaps on a regular basis will make a difference because of an ingredient that gives it's real benefit cumulatively over repeated uses.Forget the name of it but starts with an "A" and isn't cheap but these 2 artisans have done their homework and the benefits can't be disputed so they have it in there products for our benefit. My lather again was thin but again suspected it was my using too much water initially. I tried to be careful but apparently getting my badger knots water retention dialed in is the issue. When I was done shaving with exceptional slickness even with the thin lather, I squeezed out the brush to reclaim any lather left and found some lather and a runny soup..............yep too much water but again even in this state an awesome shave. I'll use a synthetic tomorrow when using the Doc Holiday Scent rounding out my 5 scents in possession currently.

On another note, I won the Ebay bid on the Penhaligon's Endymion Pafum Concentrate and still can't believe I rolled hat much dough from recent sales into a Fragrance. blame @Aaron for sending me a sample in a pif and getting me hooked on it. Still I got it substantially below current selling prices at @$130 and it will be cherished but used and enjoyed....................still can't believe I spent that much...................Have a great day Cadre !!

I hear ya on the frag purchases. I have acquired a good number of Penhaligon frags this year, all at a discount to retail but when you are buying 10 or more that discount is not helpful. I’ve mostly gone with the anthology scents, many are discontinued. I don’t think they are all wonderful but my wife enjoyed the daffodil scent I got for her ...truth be told their unisex stuff is more for her than for him. I think my favs are sartorial, elixer, oud d vervain and maybe ROI. Orange blossom and gardenia are ok but nothing to write home about.

Congrats! The good thing about frags is they do last you a good while since you're not using the volume that you do for an AS. What does your wife think of Endymion?

I'm enjoying Sartorial and REALLY like Endymion. Looking forward to getting it 👍 I have a sample set from cmh737 and saw half were listed as for her when I got it. I've stuck with the for him ones.

She likes it but I always get accused of being that guy. Of course she's getting in the car with me right after application..... That's my story anyway. I'll need to be careful with the EDP, I could have bought 2 EDC for the same money. Hope I chose correctly....

Of course it's personal choice, but there is a difference in scent. I prefer the EdP myself, but they are both lovely of course.

Great score on the Concentre, Dave! There is indeed a difference between the two. The Concentre has a bit more Patchouli in it, so is a bit more earthy. It still has the slightly sweet lavender with oriental spice notes up top, but transitions much more quickly into the heart and base notes. Longevity is MUCH improved over the EdT.

Thanks for the input Josh. Hopefully I like it as much as the cologne or better.

Ya, that's what I meant ;) I own the stuff and couldn't even tell ya that.

2019 Shave # 104 ( 157 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor: Gillette Psycho Razor
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (2)
Brush: TSC Anniversary Brush
Soap: LNHC Doc Holiday
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Skin Bracer

So when I finished my shave and went to log it in I saw the storms had the internet down. Went to work on the deck which I'm trying to close in the soffits with vinyl. Then get some painting done and screen it in. Not rocket science but slow and tedious if you haven't done it before. Guys wanted $1000 to do the soffit work which I thought was too high. I don't mind paying for something but when I feel I'm getting robbed I drop back and try to find the time to do it myself. Spent $65 on material and I'm nearly halfway done with it. Need about another $10 worth of material to finish and then whatever the Aluminum fascia cover that has the lip to cover the ends cost. Here's 1 side done. Again it isn't rocket science but pretty proud I saved about $800. If I could just explain to the wife that the money saved is now for my shave gear fund..............

So onto the shave. Went with my 5th and final scent from @LNHC for the theme week and that brought up Doc Holiday which is a great scent (don't twist your arm @DocHoliday0831 patting yourself on the back, Lisa made it 🤪 ) I chose to use a synthetic which gives me more control over the water and was rewarded with a stupendous and luxurious lather and left my face feeling like I had a day at the spa post shave. (at least what I imagine a day at the spa would be like) Yep, earlier issues with lather were too much water from the badger knots as suspected. Topped off with Skin Bracer because I felt like some powdery goodness. Little break for some lunch as I skipped breakfast except for a muffin with coffee. Hope all in the Cadre are having a stellar day after stellar shaves !!
