2019 Shave # 84 ( 139 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor: Game Changer .84
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (7)
Brush: Sorrentino 1/4 Moon Tuxedo
Soap: Storybook Soapworks Shaken
Aftershave 1: Thayers Cucumber
Aftershave 2: Storybook Soapworks Shaken

So, I picked up another Storybook Soapworks soap set off the BST to add to the 4 I have. Only one I would still look to add if I came across is the Coffee one (Something about spoons..) Here's whatthey say bout Shaken:

Shaken takes you deep into the world of espionage with notes of gin, tobacco, carnation, gunpowder, paper money, sandalwood and musk. Perfect for use when you’re attending a game of high stakes baccarat, seducing your archnemesis’ henchmistress, narrowly avoiding a violent death, or speeding along in your shiny Aston Martin. The scent for every debonaire who knows exactly how he likes his martinis.

To my nose, I get the gin mostly with support of the others giving it a nice and yet unique scent. Typical nice performance definitely a tier 1 soap even though not elite it's near the top of tier 1 for me. Continue to me enamored with the Game Changer .84 plate and need to get a nicer handle to drive it around my face. The SBSS aftershave is a milky liquid and alcohol free. Feels nice although just a little tacky. Not bad enough to not enjoy but it would needs to be less tacky to be a favorite (pet peeve of mine) Decided to go with the Thayers today so as not to mix my liquors with the Humphrey's. Have a great day Cadre !!

Not sure how the scent of carnations takes me into the world of espionage though! I knew a couple spies (obviously not very good ones) I don't ever recall the scent of carnation emitting from them. It was more like sweat, green tea, goats, and cardamom. Now that's a scent profile that you can put in a soap! Where's Chris @CBLindsay when you need him! 🤪

@HandleBarberDave See what happens when you skim read :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Think I mentioned it in my jurnal but know I did in the video. Was wanting to use a razor I'm waiting on to shave with the 70th and it is lost in space with the USPS for the moment. Tracking last entry shows it left Hawaii on the 18th and doesn't show hitting the mainland yet. Hope it wasn't flying over on a Boeing 737 Max 8..............

How does the gunpowder come through? That note has me concerned.

I honestly don't get any gun powder specific scent on the soap or the AS. Soap is mostly Gin scented to me and After the AS dried down the prominent scent is VERY much like the Tobacco scent of Cognac and Cuban Cigars. I dig it as enjoyed that soap but had a reaction to my skin.

I’ve actually never taken a whiff of gunpowder. I have a mess of bullseye powder that I use for 9mm.smokeless powder smells a little different than black powder.

Oh man, that would have made for a great weekend of fun as a kid. I had to settle for scraping the powered out of firecrackers my grandpa bought me.

2019 Shave # 85 ( 140 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor: Rockwell 6c Plate 4
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (8)
Brush: Cadre Legacy Brush
Soap: Saponificio Varesino 70th Anniversary
Aftershave 1: Thayers Cucumber
Aftershave 2: Saponificio Varesino 70th Anniversary
Promised @HandleBarberDave an SV 70th shave was needed after seeing his and my razor I was hoping to use with it is lost in the Postal Universe. So I decide to use my new to me Legacy Brush with it this morning. It is a gloriously fresh smelling and feeling soap. Ton of lather left after a 3 pass shave to encourage a lather treatment to the face after the shave. Here's what was left after the 3 passes.

After the lather treatment to the face I cleaned up and topped off with the 70th Aftershave which is a perfect one in my book. I'm fussy about my aftershaves and this one leaves me exactly how I want to feel. Not dry and not greasy. Just soft feeling skin and with a nice scent. Have a swell day Cadre !! Last pic is what I'm doing while reading the forums and watching news before breakfast.......
