Bourbon Country Shave Journal - Dave in KY

Only thing I hate worse than plumbing is plumbing cpvc pipe........................Replaced faucet and found 1 of the shutoff valves leaking so went and got 2 new shutoff valves, 2 new supply lines and glue and cleaner. All done but need to let cure for an hour or 2 before I can turn water back on to the house now. Nice when I've had it trickling to keep pipes from freezing and it's staying below freezing until sometime on Tuesday. Did I mention I HATE plumbing !!!!!!!!!!!
 
I just smell burnt coffee watching that.

Funny, that reminds me of how neurosurgeons refer to cardiac surgeons as "just plumbers".
 
Good stuff. I have your video queued up, but probably won't get to it for a little bit. Sadly I am behind on videos and those are the hardest get caught up on.

Nice choices though for the 3 soaps and bowl challenge.
 
Ok so ow I get the 3 soaps challenge. I was Able to watch your video and Don’s Dollar Razor vid while waiting to show a tardy client a house. Nice shave! Good work on the plumbing too!
 
Great mix of soaps there Dave...LGC is one of my favorites, but can't be mentioned in those "favorite" lists because SWMBO dislikes pretty intensely.

Glad to hear that you resolved the plumbing issues; those can be a pain in the....pinkie toe. Will be watching the video later after work.

Afternoon shave but enjoying the variety again. Nothing outstanding to report. just a great smooth shave. Hoping to video tomorrow with the Assured razor and blades late morning. Have a great day Cadre !!

Razor: $1 Assured Dollar Store Razor Challenge
Blade: Assured Dollar Store (1)

Brush: Paladin 26 mm Lemon Drop Falstaff

Soap: CBL Ghost Dragon's Blood
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla

Aftershave 2: CFG Ghost Town Barber

Well this morning was my chance to join in the fun..........................no, let's say investigation of the $1 Razor Challenge. I'll finish 3 shaves but let's just say that the investigation is done. This thing is junk from the start and the blades, while not as bad as a Graham Field blade, combined with the razor give a serviceable (Barely) shave but leave MUCH to be desired. Saw surface rust on the outside of the razor after removing from packaging. Bade appeared at least damage free. Loaded the blade and held head in place as I tightened it to "ASSURE" alignment and to make sure the doors of the razor met properly which was needed to get this result. Good amount of blade feel and while I guess it was cutting it was a very rough feel. Glad I used CBL soap for protection and ended with Humphreys and my favorite AS CFG GTB. Shave 1 in the books and video uploading. I'll add it here in my VLOG and the Razor Challenge thread when done. Have a great day CADRE and let's see those other Shaves with the $1 Razor !!!
