Bourbon Country Shave Journal - Dave in KY

Saturday December 29, 2018

Razor: All Brass Prototype
Blade: Gillette Rubie (5)

Brush: Sorrentino Custom w/ Quarter Moon Synthetic

Soap: Stirling One

Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Stirling One

So went with the Stirling One today and has a nice scent that I can't place. I can see how KJ equates it with PdP #63 but while could be in that wheel house I find it a tad brighter. Still a very nice masculine scent and typical Stirling performance that leads to an enjoyable shave. Visited the Brass Prototype razor again and got a smooth comfortable shave, just not as close or efficient a shave as I expect. Topped with the Stirling One AS which is closer to the #63 especially after it dries down and get the occasional wiff from it. Nice and glad I have it. Can't say enough about how much I like the idea of 3 oz of soap in these 4 oz containers. PERFECT size and amount in my book and wish all retailers did this. More soap variety without feeling you'll never finish a tub. I do wish it still had a choice of 4 oz of AS though instead of 2 oz as I'm a glugger ?? Have a great day Cadre !!

PS - This razor prototype has been added to the AUCTION

Gluggers of the World Unite!!!

Excellent shave this morning Dave. But only a two ounce bottle of aftershave? That would last me for about three or four shaves...five max!

A lot of people are singing the praises of Stirling One. I might have to see what all the hubbub is about...bub!

And offering that razor in the auction? I hope this community does TSC right!

Very nice shave Dave! I may bid on the auction just for the razor and coin the rest I would PiF to someone as my wife and old spice type scents is a no no

Just checked out the auction. Awesome idea Dave!

I was was eyeing up the Stirling One the other day. I’m so bad with scent descriptions, and there are so many separate pieces in Stirling’s scent description, that I have no idea what it would actually smell like haha. But I have heard a lot of praise for Pdp 63...maybe I should take a chance.

I have to agree with Don on the AS size though, as I’m also a “glugger”. I’d run through that bottle way before the soap was kicked.

Thanks Gents, just in the door and catching up before I'm out the door again. Someone Got a Paladin Beehive Honey Noir inbound !!!!!!!!!

I feel like a bad friend. 3 pages behind lol. Enjoyed the ride though. And the Old Spice auction makes more sense now lol.

Beehive paladin... I'm jealous.
