Wednesday morning’s Lemony Scented Grand Freeze:

Warm shower
Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
Super Speed/7 O’Clock day 11
Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill SS
Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill ASB
Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill AS Splash
Amatoury 114 Lemon Cologne

Fresh, tangy lemon with two boatloads of frigidly cold menthol, a beautiful brush that performs like a champ, an awesome razor/blade combination and three passes - what more can I ask for? Another super duper BBS shave that was so delightful. The Glacial Lemon Chill soap, balm, and aftershave are an absolute must have in my den at ALL times - do I ever LOVE them. Finally the 114 cologne which is a very cheap one from Lebanon, yet it has a lovely lemony fragrance which surprised my wife - she complimented me on it when she smelled it and she couldn’t believe it when I told her that it cost me only six bucks!

Enjoy your day and your shaves - be well and stay safe!

A fabulous shave this morning with Subtle Art Soap Co Mid Cape Barber. What a marvelous scent. Joe and Sadie's soaps perform so well. The Rockwell 6s on plate 2 easily handled the 1 day's growth.

What an awesome grand freeze you had this morning, Lantsman! The next time I place in order with Stirling, I'm going to order a sample of Glacial Lemon Chill. I received a bath soap sample of it with a previous order. I used it as a hand soap and absolutely loved the smell.

Thanks so much Lantsman!

The scent suits me very well and the skincare of the bath soap is great!

Noticing the head of that razor,I have a travel ball end tech with the guard bent way down. I always assumed it was defective. Good to know that there are others like that.

Back to my favorite shave soap. Well; maybe my favorite "year round" shave soap (I think Seaforth Blackwatch is my favorite soap, but I only use it during the winter months, Athos I use year round)
I love this scent, it's just such an enticing scent. Only setback is an EDT/EDP isn't offered. No cuts, no weepers, no redness. Just reveling in the simple thing

• Bowl: Doug Smith Pottery – Ceramic Shave Bowl
• Brush: Semogue – 1470 (Boar)
• Razor: GEM – Junior 1912 Brass with Art Deco/Chain Link Handle
• Blade: Accuforge – GEM Microcoat
• Soap: Ariana & Evans – Peach & Cognac
• Aftershave: Stirling – Peach Aftershave Splash
• Balm: Stirling – Unscented Post Shave Balm
• Fragrance: House of Mammoth – Smash EDP

I’m coming right out and saying it: I don’t care for the artwork on this shave soap. Ariana & Evans does some really cool and thoughtful labels, but this one gives me the creeps. It makes me think of Medusa. Sad that with them having so many scents available, my favorite happens to be the one with the artwork I do not care for. The scent is spectacular, though. Peter has offered to make a fragrance for me of it for $70 (I believe he will do this for most scents). He even asked if I would like him to tone down the peach in it, but I am not sure I would want him to do that. Once I finish this sample of Smash, I will treat myself. Hopefully, that will coincide with the end of summer as I think Smash is a good summer scent and Peach & Cognac seems a bit more geared toward colder weather.

Smash has been discontinued (though I think there are some on sale at the HoM website) and was created by Will at Barrister and Mann. It is based on the cocktail: the bourbon smash. It features notes of peach, cane sugar, tobacco, bourbon, and hedione. I love the peach upfront, but there is something slightly cloying on the dry-down. Maybe it is the cane sugar or the hedione? There are some moments later in the day when it can be slightly obtrusive. But, still a lovely scent and perfect for a day with lovely weather.

The Shaving Cadre has a few gentlemen that are going to do Mystic May (using Mystic Water throughout the month of May). I encourage you to join or to check out Mystic Water if you have not. I will participate, but with one caveat since I have been sent so many samples and purchased some new stuff, Mystic May Every Other Day.

Have an awesome day, friends!

Last day of April was a fantastic shave
Razor-Gillette twist to open (aristocrat)
Soap-Prorasso menthol
Blade-Personna 1x
Brush-vintage EverReady 200t reknotted with badger and steel weights in the handle
A/S- Pinaud Clubman classic
This is the last day of April, and I will be taking some days off this week to spend time with family.
Todays shave was easy and efficient, the prorasso always works and the heat from the badger brush felt good on the skin.
I'm not sure menthol was the best option for today since it is colder than average.
Happy Shaves!

Thursday morning:

Warm shower
Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
Super Speed/7 AM day 12
B&M Spice SS
Lubriderm Moisturizer
Stirling Spice EdT

This morning I was in the mood for a Shulton Old Spice shave and because I still can’t find my mug with a puck in it as well as my two back up pucks I went for the perfect substitute which is the B&M Spice. Man alive, this soap smells absolutely EXACTLY like the Shulton Old Spice - do I ever love that scent, the lather is such a delight, and it gives great post-shave care which the Lubriderm moisturizer really enhances. Finally the Stirling Spice fragrance which is another perfect copy of the Shulton Old Spice but with more longevity and that’s it that’s all. Three passes gave me such an awesome BBS shave and I enjoyed it so much!

Have a nice day - be well and stay safe!
