The TSC Movie Thread

Not sure if anyone has ever played the video game, The Mortuary Assistant", but they've made a movie based on it and it looks GREAT!!

I finally got around to watching The Long Walk. Wow! What a movie! I think I read the book while I was in the Navy and out on deployment. I don't remember much about it other than the basic premise but for this post I'm focusing on the movie.

Writing.. Excellent!
Acting.. Outstanding!!!

This movie ranks up there with some of King's greatest adaptations like The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption. It's brutal. But it's beautiful at the same time.

It'll be a crime if this movie doesn't get any Oscar nods (especially for David Jonsson)

Heard so many great things about this one. I loved the novel, and am looking forward to watching this with the wife.

Not a big Leto fan really…but Tron Ares ended up being decent! NIN of course did an excellent job on the OST.

I just partook of Perfume: The Story of a Murderer(2006). What a phenomenal film! The music alone made it a winner in my book, but the unique linear story line follows the life and amazing talent of Jean-Baptist Grenouille. The movie is all about the beauty and obsession of scent. I knew somewhat to expect from snippets that I’d seen on YouTube, but this one was wonderful even with some of the plot spoiled.

I was also shocked to find out that it was a box office success grossing $135 million worldwide on a $60 million budget. I had never heard of the film before a few weeks ago. Shockingly it did horrible in the United States grossing only $2.2 Million compared to $133 million in Europe! Apparently they released it in a limited number of cinemas in the USA, I guess they thought it just wouldn’t be to our taste. Personally I feel it was excellent and completely different in a fantastic way!

Ah, the downfall of trying to capture the scent of things only achieved by interaction with human skin and other materials...

I actually saw this at the theater. Piper's Alley Chicago's north side. Quirky story; but that ending.......TRIPPY is all I can say. (Don't want to spoil it for others)

And it did not!
(I haven't seen it yet)

Agree. We liked the movie. Far better than what the critics said about it.

My wife and I have been catching up on classics that we both never managed to get around to seeing. A few nights ago was Treasure Of The Sierra Madre. Such an amazing film. I knew that it was about gold prospecting…but not much else. I love John Huston as an actor (particularly in Chinatown), and knew that this was considered a masterpiece of his, but it still amazed me - especially Bogart being SUCH an irredeemable character. He was really great in it, as was Huston’s dad. IMG_2326.png
