Really great show! As for the games, I haven’t played anything other than 3 and 4, both really great. I’m an old school Bethesda fan…loved Morrowind and the OG Oblivion…and Skyrim, that was peak.
I played the original fallout back in the 90's, couldnt really get into fallout 2, the starcraft and warcraft bug got me durring those years. Fallout 3 and 4 were awsome!!!! Ive actually been gettimg the itch to play through 4 again, super fun game

So I got our must watch movies poster out again after the move. So far we've seen Argo which we've both seen before and my wife's cousin is in for about 2.5 seconds. Good movie. And then we saw Gladiator. My wife wasn't very excited to see it, but it wasn't as bad as she thought. We're only two movies away from watching Gone With the Wind, which I'm dreading.

Just watched Coverup (1949); with Dennis O'Keefe and William Bendix. Phenomenal "Christmas" movie with a twist, it's a murder mystery. I think I've seen it before, but can't say for certain (it seemed familiar). O'Keefe is an insurance investigator going to a small town to clear up details regarding the suicide of a policy holder. Turns out, most residents despised the man, and things definitely point to murder. Benix play the affable, and none-to-helpful town sheriff. Barbara Britton plays the lovely distraction for O'Keefe's insurance dick. The movie wraps up with a satisfying explanation of the events leading up to the deceased's demise. What other non-traditional Christmas movies do you guys enjoy?

Watched my FAVORITE Christmas movie; the screwball comedy from. 1994 Trapped in Paradise. Nick Cage, Jon Lovitz, Dana Carvey; pure gold when it comes to laughter and the interactions between each other.

I still play skyrim. I finally switched to SE after getting a new pc this summer. Right now I belive I'm in the neighborhood of 1600 mods active in my game....
Definitely an experience.
Fo4 is on hold after their game break. I mean update....
Been strongly considering going back to new Vegas and the tale of two wastelands mod that incorporates fo3 into the same game. Time thing right now. The little time I get i just end up playing skyrim instead of messing with installs.

Avatar: Fire and Ash

For those that haven't seen it yet, (it just came out) this past week), the new Avatar is interesting. It's long, I counted the number of times I looked at my watch to see how much longer we had and came up with two. Not bad for a movie which is over 3 hours long. I would say that it's enjoyable, and can be enjoyed as a one off (I haven't seen the 2nd one yet) but was able to follow along more or less without too much problems. If you're vested into the story from the first two movies, you'll likely enjoy this one. It's a fun film with good action sequences. There are a few (smaller) plot holes that may bother the more OCD audience. It's definitely a movie worth seeing on the big screen, as a lot of the spectacle will be lost on a home television w/o the immersive sound structure of a theater. I'm not going to get into any of the plot specifics for the sake of spoiler removal. But there is one plot line that seemed to be cut short at climax of the film. I may be missing some of the context from the 2nd film, granted, but it still seemed like there was a lot more they could have done to resolve that storyline/plot in a different way. I would say out of 5 stars, I would rank it around a 3.25. Barely above average, but enjoyable enough to spend the money to see in the theater once due to the grandeur of the special effects on the big screen. Don't look to it for a riveting storyline...as you can imagine, it's very closely related to the first movie (and likely the 2nd as well)

Just to qualify how I rank things. Anything 4.5 stars and above is something that you would go see in the theaters multiple times, special effects or not. Typically, movies which do not have a large amount of special effects aren't required theater viewing unless it is just a phenomenal piece of cinema. Classics like Gone With the Wind, Citizen Kane, Casablanca, The Godfather I and II, Schindler's List, Gone Girl (I just think this is incredible storytelling and cinematography) etc...would fit into this realm. A special effects heavy movie definitely gives it more "wassa" to see in the theaters due to the spectacle of it.

Examples;
1 star: Mission to Mars (IMHO, one of the worst films ever made and the only movie I've walked out of the theater for)
2 star: Ghost In the Shell (2017 remake w/ Scarlett Johansson) Special effects heavy movie that really didn't capture the audience. Could have been so much more. The Star Wars sequel trilogy falls in here.
3 star: All the Mission Impossible films. Some were great storytelling, some were horrible. But the special effects make them worthy of seeing in the theater for that alone. The scripts aren't really worth the paper they're printed on, however. A lot of re-hashing of plot devices throughout the entire franchise. I would place Episode I from the Star Wars prequel trilogy here. Also, Godfather III.
4 star: The Hobbit trilogy, Episodes II and III from the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, Leon - the Professional, Starship Troopers, Shawshank Redemption, Good Will Hunting, Gone Girl. MCU movies typically fall in the lower part of this range, but never reach 5 stars.
5 star: Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan, Forest Gump, Lord of the Rings trilogy, original Star Wars trilogy, Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Interstellar, Inception, The Dark Knight trilogy

Ah; Mission to Mars, I also walked out on that Turd, AND I WAS WATCHING AT HOME on Dvd.:ROFLMAO:

I get a program called “Svengoolie” that airs classic horror movies, including some really silly ones. I love the programs. Does anyone else here get this show?

Last week thanks to Svengoolie, I saw “Sharktopus”. Yes, it’s exactly as ridiculous as the name suggests. Since I love really stupid horror movies I had a great time!

Yep. I've watched Svengoolie since he was broadcast on WFLD 32 (well before the purchase by FOX) in the late seventies through the early nineties. He went by the moniker "Son of Svengoolie" to differentiate himself from the original Svengoolie, Jerry Bishop of Screaming yellow theater.( Rich Koz asked Bishop for permission to resurrect the Svengoolie character once Bishop retired.) He then took a brief Hiatus before he was picked up by WCIU 26; which was rebranded "The U". Sometime in the late 2000's or early 2010's, he was also broadcast on WWME Channel 23, aka "MeTV". They would broadcast the original/"live" on 26, and the following week they'd broadcast that same episode on 23. Rich Koz is also a longtime weatherman. Really nice guy if you ever meet him.

In the early 80's they ran a promotion to screen Return of the Creature in 3D. The local 7-11 convenience stores sold those cheap, paper, "3D" glasses (one lens was blue, one lens was red). I remember one incident in my town where an older woman drove her car through the front window of a 7-11 in a mad rush to get a pair of 3D glasses. There was quite a black market of resellers that bought up a bunch of glasses, and jacked up the price. **** For you younger folks, you have to remember we didn't have the plethora of channels you have today; in fact, We had the big three, CBS,ABC, and NBC, plus WGN superstation (a local channel that was broadcast nationwide due to their antenna), WFLD 32, a Chicago and suburban channel, and WFBN (later rebranded WGBO) which was Spanish language, but showed dubbed martial arts films on Sundays, known as "Samurai Sunday" (yeah didn't make much sense, since Samurai are Japanese, and most films they screened were Shaw Brothers, and Golden Harvest Chinese martial arts films. But it rhymed nicely, and marketed great.) Fond memories. Back in the days when TV was truly must watch. Final episode of MASH, Who shot J.R, Dukes of Hazard, Kight Rider, A-Team, Fall Guy, and Miami Vice. Man I miss the 80's
