Fantastic shave this morning! Returned to Stirling Soap Co. and their excellent "Christmas Eve" shave soap and splash. Fantastically festive scent with great lather built with the Wild West Brushworks synth for three passes with the Feather AC and I finished with alum, followed by the matching aftershave lotion.

Late post but a phenomenal shave this morning! Returned to Noble Otter's "Tis The Season" shave soap and splash. Another wonderful, festive scent with great lather built with the Simpsons Manchurian badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed Thayers unscented witch hazel and the matching aftershave lotion.

Fantastic scent with incredible lather built with the Paladin badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed Thayers unscented witch hazel and the matching aftershave tonic.

It's "Synthwave Saturday" so here's a playlist for you. Hope you enjoy.


Anther phenomenal shave this morning! Returned to PAA and their excellent "Cavendish" shave soap and splash. Fantastic pipe tobacco scent with incredible lather built with the Semogue SOC boar brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed Thayers unscented witch hazel and the matching aftershave splash & EdP. Had been a while since I last used a boar brush. Remedied that today and the Semogue didn't disappoint! These (Semogue SOC) and Zenith boar brushes are the best I've used.

Fantastic Earl Grey tea scent with incredible lather built with the Paladin badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed Thayers unscented witch hazel and the matching aftershave splash.

It's "Metal Monday" and today I'm going with a couple from French rockers, Gojira. Hope you enjoy.



Fantastic shave with which to kick off the new workweek! Returned to ETHOS Grooming Essentials and Frank's excellent "Tears Of A Dragon" shave soap and splash. A beautiful scent which carries over the Dragonsbeard DNA with all its smoky, resinous goodness, but this one kicks up the rose note big time. Phenomenal lather built with the Paladin badger brush for three passes with the Rockwell 6S and I finished with alum, followed Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching skin food splash and Czech & Speake "No.88" EdC.

Another fantastic shave on this, the penultimate day of 2025! Returned to PAA and their excellent Yardley Black Label homage, "The Watcher" shave soap and splash. Phenomenal scent! I have some vintage Yardley BL aftershave and cologne and this is practically identical. An incredibly thick and slick lather built with the Simpson badger brush for three passes with the Rockwell 6S and I finished with alum, followed Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching aftershave splash and vintage Yardley Black Label EdC.

Phenomenal Old School scent with incredible lather built with the Envy Shave badger brush for three passes with the Blackland Era and I finished with alum, followed Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching aftershave splash and PAA "Crabapple & Newton" EdC.

A Happy New Year to you all! A (somewhat) humble shave to kick off 2026. The results however were top shelf! Went with the RazoRock fougère shave soap, Barbershop Black Label. Wonderful scent with incredible lather built with the Semogue SOC boar brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed Thayers unscented witch hazel and Mennen Skin Bracer aftershave lotion.

A very nice shave this morning! Returned to my "Windy Willie" shave soap. This is a puck of modern Williams in which vintage Avon Tai Winds cologne was infused. Phenomenal scent with a typical lather from the soap; thin and with little cushion but excellent slickness. Lather was built with the RajonCajon synth for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching aftershave lotion & cologne.

Going with a relaxing Sci-Fi ambiance for your Sunday. Hope you enjoy.


Fantastic shave this morning! Returned to my vintage Shulton Old Spice suite. Unparalleled Old School scent with an incredible lather built with the Ever-Ready synth for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel and the matching aftershave lotion, talc & cologne. When I first starting using this puck there was little to no scent detectable. However, as I've worked further into it, that wonderful classic scent has emerged.

Wonderful lather built with the Paladin badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Quinn's lavender witch hazel and the matching aftershave lotion & EdT.

A great scent with notes of almond/marzipan and cherry with a super thick and slick lather built with the Simpson badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, the matching aftershave lotion & Dior "Bois d'Argent" EdC.

Wow! Today's shave wins the week! Returned to Ariana & Evans and their fantastic "Rive Paris" croap. A wonderful YSL Rive Gauche homage that is, along with PAA's "CaD", the closest I've found to the frag. A yogurt-like cushioning lather was built with the Paladin badger brush for three passes with the Karve and I finished with alum, followed by Thayers unscented witch hazel, Fine Accoutrements "American Blend" aftershave lotion & YSL "Rive Gauche" EdT.
