Straight razor Journey

I've been using this combo almost a week. Giving the Gold Dollar straight razor and workout. Second shave I refreshed the edge because factory edge was a tiny bit buggy. Stropped 10 on pasted strop, 30 on canvas strop. The 60 on leather strop. Rest of shaves only went on canvas and leather same as above. Definitely holding edge fine. Razor sings so loudly, wonder if you could shave with you eyes closed and just go by sound. I already shave without glasses on, which makes everything very blurry already. Definitely love sing razors like this. Find the sound actually makes shave more enjoyable.
Soap and aftsauce is Cuba Lubre. Definitely recommend using both together. The aftersauce compliments and bost scent of soap. Scent is better when you use them together versus separately. Soap can handle a ridiculous amount of water which is fantastic. Wetter the slicker, fantastic straight razor soap, but can be used with DE, SE and if you must(I won't) the should be unmentionable cartridge razor

Just got back home from road trip for work and look what was waiting for me at the post office: Hombres Barbershop Doc Holiday bundle. Definitely love the peach and Huckleberry scent. Thought scent would be stronger than it is though. Brush is first I ever bought that was decent. West Coast Shaving black marble resin handle with tuxedo knot 24 mm I think. Razor, is a Artist club ss clone Kamisori style from Ali Express. Handle is actually real wood. Very good quality and handle is very comfortable to use. Doesn’t get slick if you get soap on it. Feather Proguard blade in it. 2 pass and touch-up BBS

Trying A couple new items in this Shave.
My 3rd boar brush, didn't like the cheapest you can buy omega it never had any backbone and shed hair constantly. 2nd brush Omega Professional I've been using occasionally is finally breaking in. Only shed a few hairs just recently but stopped shedding. Only soak for a couple minutes though is best. Accidentally doaked it for an hour once because I got busy with something else. It got reall floppy. Understand why you see barbershop videos where they choke up on bristles. Constant use probably make them go floppy if not given time to dry a little.
New brush is a Yaqi 24 mm boar. First use. Yep tried to lather hog a tiny bit. Probably soak it a tad longer to prevent that. It'll probably stop that once it breaks in just like the omega Professional did. Lost 1 hair on first use. Definitely better than that first brush I had . Definitely injoying the deeper scrubbing action you can get with a boar brush.

New soap: Lisa Natural Herbal Creatons 1920's Barbershop. Definitely a slick soap, had trouble rinsing slickness off. Used alum block to kill slickness helped to finally get t off. Used a little Witchhazel , Doc Holiday aftershave and clubman talc to Finnish off a wonderfully DSS-BBS shave. Razor was the Tedalus Essence of course

Back to a real straight razor today. Galileo Galilei , my favorite real straight razor. Sterling Zenith 31 mm boar again. Broke in real nice. No longer hard to load soap. No longer latherhogs when you do get it loaded. Live the softness of brush from get go, but definitely even softer now. Backbone is excellent. Soap is the Martin de candre Magellan soap in the brainbowl. Soap has a spice scent similar to bay rum. So pairing it with PAA Atomic Peach Bay Rum was a great match! DSS-BBS in 2 passes and splash touch up.

4 days beard growth, no problem! Just got out my Grail razor third use. 1 pass and splash touch up BBS
Razor: Yamada Denzaburo traditional Japanese straight razor (Kamisori). Asymmetrical blade. Blade is left handed. I'm right hand dominant, but shave both hands (traditional and cross hand). This thing is insanely sharp! Took my sweet time with this one.
Soap Martin De Candre Magellan in brain bowl.
brush is Sterling Zenith 31 mm boar.

Finely tested the Sweeney Todd movie musical razor. Would shave my arm out of the box. But not my beard. Don't figure. So redone it. Then 10 on pasted linen, 40 on linen .60 on leather and it past parking peanut test. Soap Martin De Candre Fougere. With Sterling Zenith 40 mm boar. Removed mustache and goatee easily without trimming down with trimmer. Will be growing it back out. Handle is actually copper that had been patina nicely.
