Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

It's "Women of Rock Wednesday" and today I'm returning to Brazilian guitarist and composer, Lari Basilio. Hope you enjoy.



Phenomenal shave this morning! Returned to Stirling Soap Co. and their excellent Sir Irisch Moos homage, "I, Rich Moose" shave soap. Bright citrus / bitter green open with a fantastic base that reminds me of Paco Rabanne minus the soapiness. Fantastic lather built with the Simpson Manchurian Badger brush for three passes with the '69 Super 109 and I finished with alum, Thayers Cucumber witch hazel and Mäurer & Wirtz "Sir Irisch Moos" after shave lotion & EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Not much to report. Moving slow this morning. Coffee and a great shave are helping.

Going with a couple today from English guitarist / composer, Jack Gardiner. Hope you enjoy.



Wonderful shave this morning! Kept with the Fougère theme today, going with the "Cologne-Fougère" shave soap from Le Père Lucien. Great scent (if a little on the light side) with incredible lather built with the restored Ever-Ready 200 synth for three passes with the RazoRock Game Changer and I finished with alum, Thayers Cucumber witch hazel, vintage Avon "Deep Woods" after shave lotion, vintage Avon talc & "Deep Woods" EdC.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: A couple of sweltering days on tap today and tomorrow then we'll be getting a nice cool down! Can't wait!

Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Closing out the workweek with a a song from Riverside vocalist and bassist, Mariusz Duda from his side-project, Lunatic Soul. Hope you enjoy.


Nothing fancy about today's shave, just great products which together provided great results. Returned to the Palmolive shave cream with its light scent and cooling menthol. An excellent lather built with the Paladin badger brush for three passes with the RazoRock Game Changer and I finished with alum, Quinn's Lavender witch hazel, Williams "Original Sport" after shave lotion, Clubman talc and Caron "Le 3e Homme de Caron" EdT.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Storms moving overnight will bring a taste of Fall back around. Can't wait!

It's "Synthwave Saturday" so here's a playlist for you. Hope you enjoy.


Late post but a great shave to start the day. New soap day with the arrival of Pré de Provence No.63 shave soap and balm. A light but pleasant scent with excellent lather built with the Stirling Soap Co. synth for three passes with the Feather AC SS and I finished with the matching aftershave balm and Clubman talc.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Rainy day. Storms earlier resulted in a few calls from the alarm monitoring service but nothing bad.

Going with a cut today from Prog Rock supergroup SMPT:e. Hope you enjoy.


Great shave this morning!. New soap/splash day with the arrival of "Outdoor Man" from Stirling Soap Co. This is the latest offering in their "Man" series of software based on Creed fragrances. "Outdoor Man" is an attempt to capture the essence of one of my favorite frags, "Bois di Portugal". It's a very nice scent but IMO falls a little short of the mark. I'd give it a solid "B". Excellent lather built with the Paladin badger brush for three passes with the RazoRock Game Changer and I finished with Quinn's Lavender witch hazel, the matching aftershave splash, Clubman talc and Creed "Bois du Portugal" EdP.

The "Happy Hogan" Homefront Report: Did not feel well yesterday. Could only muster enough energy for a shower so, with the extra beard growth, todays shave was especially nice!
