Words of wisd..... Yeah right.... We all know better than that!

They never give you small projects, do they, Shawn? One day you’ll come to work and they’ll say, “Clear the woods on the back 40 and build us a warehouse.” I’m looking forward to your pictures of that. 😃

Glad your wife’s surgical recovery is going well. Your grandchildren are beautiful! 👍
Thanks Bruce.
I actually got myself into building a 3rd set. Figured out a way to make them work and still leave access for the anual tear apart and put back together. So steel is here and I get to start that. Pretty much the whole thing will be in the air for that one.. working out of a lift can be a pain..

Just for @Graybeard57 here is the third level of stairs....

Back at my own plant this week. Definitely perks to pretending to be a machinist...
Got the anvil on the mill and flattened out the face and foot. Gave it a quick coat of paint just because. So it's all ready to do more updates in my forging thread.

Other than that things are normal. Chrissy is all healed up and back to work now. Shaving has been a bit boring. Mostly my timeless and mdc Agrumes.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Still kicking. Been a lot going on. Way too much actually...
Shaving has been sort of boring. Mostly either the feather clone from Ali with a feather pro blade or my timeless with a wizamet.
Been working through a couple of older soaps. Finished up some cbl lime, cbl cucumber melon, and working on a razorock xxx right now.

Work has been a bit hectic as well. The first sanding head on the 4 head planer/sander got gouged somehow so we had to pull that and send it out to get new rubber put on. While it was out they did the same thing to the 3rd head on the triple head planer/sander.... That one left yesterday to get redone.
Been designing and building some scrap conveyors in my "spare" time for a new guillotine style scrap shortener for lack of a better term. These have been maintenance designed, so all of the grease fittings are easily accessible, extra tracking adjustments have been put in, lock rings are all accessible, just things you wouldn't think about if you didn't have to work on or maintain it.
But enough rambling from me, I know you guys just like the pictures. :p

Have you ever thought about working for NASA? Just wondering.

Your metal and mechanical skills are extraordinary. Just don’t sell yourself short and work for SpaceDebrisX! 😉
Thanks, but I'd be lucky to be above an apprentice level on a lot of things. My only saving grace is that I could be the poster child for Jack of all trades master of none.

Haven't been around much but hope everyone is doing great.

The other day at work I went from making a precision set up for machining a piece within a half a thousands of an inch, to standing on the rails of the manlift playing around with the 480 volt 2000 amp bus bar that feeds half the plant.... (your house service is 240 volt at 200 amps max...)
Shaving has been uneventful. Timeless mainly with a few feather clone shaves thrown in.
Hopefully I'll have a bit more time to post a little more.

Ya, don't do that.
That's one of those things I kinda had to do. One of our blowers went down. When I went out to get it restarted it was single phasing. Then the cnc router went down about the same time. So I went to check the fuses on the 600 amp bus line that feeds them.
The fused disconnect for that was of course over machines and had a sprinkler pipe in the way so I had to stand on the rails to reach. When I went to shut the disconnect off to de energize the fuses, the handle just spun.....
So that turned into shutting off half the plant to turn off one of the main feeds to be able to change the fuses. Then the whole 45 minute startup procedure because now all 3 blowers were down from shutting off that main.
We did order a new disconnect that day. It is here already, but im not looking forward to changing it. Being that difficult to just change the fuses where it is and it is 3 feet long and weighs about 225 pounds... not going to be a fun day.

I think someone from the state with a hard hat and a clip board should have showed up half way through that story and shut down your journal.

The only bad thing was standing on the rails. The rest was just as it should be. I checked for power after opening the disconnect and didn't proceed until the power was off. So all good there. Sounds worse than it was other than the location being difficult to get to.

Been quite busy with work and home, but hope everyone is doing well!
Had to do some work at the grandbaby's house over the weekend. She was extremely happy to see the toolbag was there which meant that I had to use every screwdriver that was in it because she thought I needed them. Then it started with the pliers...
But she was so excited to help just smiling and giggling every time I used a tool she thought I needed.
