Shave #32 (500 Open Blade Shaves) of 2022:

Gear: RR GC .68 SB, Astra SS blade, Stirling 2-band synth brush, CBL Steel Grey Fougere soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, Skin Bracer AS, and Rochas Moustache EDP to finish!

Little bit better sleep. Still not great. Since the missus is gone this weekend, we opted to do an OT work out class last night. Tough for a Monday, lol, but walked out feeling good!

So looking forward to this shave for the last week. My big ol bottle of Moustache EDP was sent on the slow ground truck all the way from Florida. Qued up a nice fresh/clean combo for some great results, then doused myself with some generous sprays of the frag. Really nice, creamy amber/wood/vanilla. First sprays reminded me of a cross between the barest hints of a dried down Ombré Leather with a base like The One. Really nice! Hopefully the longevity is there too!

Hope y’all have a great Tuesday!

Have a great Tuesday my friend. It’s so wild on the Moustache EdT vs EdP - there is absolutely no resemblance between the frags except for they share a similar bottle.

How do you remember all of these scents? I'd be hard pressed to describe one I used in the morning, never mind days or weeks before. I most definitely do not have a nose for scents.

Yea I don’t get much resemblance either. Both great though thankfully! Thanks Brian!

My collection is pretty small at the moment. Haven’t experienced a lot of repeat or similar fragrances yet, something I’m trying to avoid anyway. It just takes some time I guess, and finding some favorites. Or maybe scent just creates strong enough memories for me? Who knows! 🤷‍♂️😂

Another busy day ahead with IDT meeting, patient visits, and so on. OT workout this evening too.

Pretty darn good shave to start off the day. This Astra SS is underperforming a bit though, feeling a tad rough. Usual Moos setup. Finished up with that amazing By The Fireplace frag from Replica…the missus came into the bathroom as I was finishing up, have a sour face, and said “Ugh…I can taste the cologne you’re wearing!” 😂 She’s not much into smokey campfire smells 😂

Thanks be thing less to do though, I think I may have finished writing out my sermon. Gonna do some read-throughs and tweaks today…then perhaps try and film tomorrow.

Have a great Wednesday all!

Did you also emphasize the “chestnuts roasting by an open fire” component about it? That it ranked high with the folks at SoCal Scents YT Channel? 😂

My suggestion on the sermon

To be fair, like many scents it evolves with dry down and if I recall the sweeter notes are highlighted then. Which is why I didn't get it because I want a big ole charred log smack upon the head.
This one is right up your alley - includes a coffee note as well

This is true. The sweetness does come out more as it dries down. I still get a pleasant smokey vibe though hand in hand with that. I don’t mind the sweetness I guess.
So Chris, where can we view your sermon?
I can post the link here when it’s done I suppose.

Looks good!

Leaving the window open for when I get weak and want to buy something. I think the soap first though.

Shave #34 (500 Open Blade Shaves) of 2022:

Gear: RR GC .68 SB, Astra SS blade, Yaqi Sagrada Familia synth brush, CBL Steel Grey Fougere soap, homemade witch hazel/aloe mix, LNHC Barber Shoppe post shave elixir, and D&G Light Blue to finish!

Hooooo…still feeling the workout a bit.

Great shave this morning. Wanted to use some more of my Light Blue sample. It’s a really nice, general use blue frag, a tad on the darker side, but it highlights a nice, juicy punch of grapefruit that makes it a bit unique to other blues. A great jeans and white t-shirt kind of frag! I may get this once Versace PH is gone (that’ll be a while though).

Happy Thursday all!

How can a day that starts with a Citrus scent go wrong? Answer - it can’t! I hear citrus has magical powers to soothe sore muscles!

Have a fantastic day Chris!

Indeed! Thanks Brian!
Me too! About 1 inch of snow, which isn't much, but the bottom half was all ice crystals which makes for a good bit more effort to clear. Plus Mr. Town Plow left about a 6 foot wide x 1-2 foot swath of heavy road stuff the full width of the driveway.
At least he was considerate enough to do his business before you started yours? I guess? 😂

If he had come after…well that’s when you just curl up and go back to sleep…
Hah! It’s not so much the arms that get me…but the stairs in our unit after leg day…suprised I’m still alive 😂
